Victor Ibarbo Empty Victor Ibarbo

Post by Gil Tue Mar 25, 2014 7:26 am

Why is a player so talented so shit? I honestly thought he was only good on FIFA and that goal against Belgium was a fluke but I've been watching videos on YouTube and he's got the lot. Exceptional pace, strength, height, skill, dribbling ability yet despite all that, his goal record for Cagliari is a pathetic 12 in 94 app and his record for Colombia is even worse.

Any explanation for his putrid goal return avid Serie A watchers/Colombians/Moal?

Well he's pretty stupid and a lousy finisher.

Straight to the point. Laughing

What about Luis Muriel then? Another Colombian striker with amazing ability but has been pretty underwhelming statistically.

EDIT: I thought Wanda's "home movie" went beyond a 40 second clip. Was disappointed to say the least.

Problem with Ibarbo is, that for all his immense skillset for a CF who is only 23, he isn't anywhere near clinical enough to follow through with the chances that he makes himself opportune to. More so, his football IQ is lacking in stark contrast to his ability, though Diego López' use of him as an SS this season has certainly provided more influence on the pitch than just a spear head.

Muriel? An overhyped player (ES will be quick to agree) who is made to look good by Di Natale (like Toto does to half of his talents).

Players like Muriel and Ibarbo do not work in Serie A as for all your skill, you need to be intelligent and tactically aware to work in the league.

Some Cagliari fans  says he is better than Suazo Cagliari legend

anyway despite this comparision is so frequent when all talk about Ibarbo  there are  differences between 2 players

Ibarbo is a lousy finisher , yes , but because  Ibarbo is not a forward although he plays often there in Italy.

He was born even as midfield, he can play as winger and  at most as second striker but he hasn't the cynism typical of forward, because  simply he is not so , as instead Suazo was to Cagliari..

and besides Ibarbo is definitely better techinically than him.

on the other hand he is definitely stupid tactically and  so his attitude tends to be wrong in the match.
then he has always  Weah-esque performances  against the top clubs and this allows him to be still hyped in Italy..

I remind many thought he would have got a complete change after last year, but he didn't it and maybe he is even worsened.  I don't know if he can do well with a higher level coach ( Lopez hasn't experience, Cagliari never relegates  just  because it has good players, Naingolaan was the star and iif it sold it since last summer ...) , he 's never improved in his defects, serious doubts anyway.

Remember how you said a player with a lot of pace, only needs to improve his decision making to become a great player? Well, yeah Ibarbo is a perfect example.

He has pace, technique, and power, but his footy IQ and decision making is a joke.

Great player on Fifa though. Proud
