Lautaro suffering from pipitaism

Pipita was a much better finisher than Lautaro though

Damn Messi actually did what he wanted on the midfield this time. Got through a bunch of times through the center. I hope these two meet again at the end but Brazil will have a say obviously.

Better defending this time. Lautaro had another disappointing performance though. Di Maria is doing well as a super sub. Good to see them winning a tough after nearly mastering in Draw

Higuain was good with Argentina tbf it was only until they reached the finals did the pressure get too high for him and he choked. Lautaro hasn't been that convincing.

Argentina is a shitty side. They only have one elite player who actually starts. The only reason I'd give them a chance for Copa is because Scaloni has been roughly starting the same team since 2018. Familiarity goes a long way in international competitions.

Papu did it well with Atalanta and then Sevilla and now he's doing well for Argentina. Argentina utilizing their experienced players and it looks good for them right now

Well they do have a faster squad then Arg but I wouldnt say itll be one sided either when they meet. Brazil have lost at home to foreign teams and whenever you have Brazil meet Argentina or Uruguay the recent past becomes meaningless and it becomes about not wanting to lose the game.

Italy have plenty of better options than Lapadula but im glad we were able to call him up. He has been immense for us, and at the very least we found a replacement for Paolo Guerrero, for the time being of course.

Yes, he is just a CF for relegation battle ( two relegations in a row for him) , but at least he is gold for Perù

Colombia got Donovan'd. VAR even justified the ref for continuing the play after the ball hit him. Colombia got caught offguard and in came the tie.

That first brazil goal should not have stood, but whatever at this point I don't see anyone but Brazil winning it. Unfortunately, as much as Argentina has gotten better since their dark days of 2015-17 I dont think it'll be enough

There's an: "exchange programme within the framework of the cooperation agreement between UEFA and the South American Football Confederation CONMEBOL, for the first time ever a South American referee will join the European group of referees and a European will travel to South America. Argentinian referee Fernando Rapallini and his assistants will join the selected European referees for EURO 2020, while a Spanish refereeing team led by Jesús Gil Manzano will be part of the selected CONMEBOL referees for the Copa América 2021"

I think Rapallini refereed the Croatia-Scotland match, it's discussed in the match commentary.

Are you guys really arguing that the ball hitting the ref gave us any kind of advantage? The ball stays roughly in the same area. I don't buy that. Blame Ospina for being shit on that one.

As for the ten minutes of added time, VAR took over seven minutes to confirm the first goal. Nothing crazy about it.

More like they got screwed over by the feint the ref made when he put the whistle in his mouth. All of Colombia was expecting the whistle but nah play continued and that costed them the tie. It was reviewed by VAR and apparently it's legal so there's not much to say after that. The ref litterally screwed Colombia over on that one.

Uruguay need to finish those. They play ok but they need to finish those chances cause goddamn they were wasteful today. Only thing I can say here is that the pitch was in terrible condition but that chance mah boy Maxi Gomez had was inexcusable.

Peru making 2nd is defintely an achievement in its own right and we have a good shot at making semis unfortunately thats where it ends, as we might face Brazil again.

Brazils bracket is insanely easy. Not making the final should bring shame to all of Brazil players and Tite.

4/5 teams go through. Such a waste of a group stage. It should've been the top 2 of each
