So, despite what the title of this article says, what I found interesting is that IF Mikel stays at Chelsea until he retires or heads to the MLS, he could find himself within the top 10 list of most appearances for us. He played 74 games for us, in the last two years alone. Given the fact he is 27, by the time he is 29, he could be on par with Ossie in terms of appearances. Incredible.

We found a home for Marin, and he is, by all accounts, much worse than Mikel.

Mikel may not be good enough to be a regular in the Chelsea XI, but he's more then good enough to be playing for a good quality side eg Kalou

Nigeria failed to Qualify for AFCON, so no worries about losing him in Jan.

This is also the first AFCON since 1998 where a Chelsea player has not participated (our loanees will but no one from the first team)
