Well, this Summer:

Considering the size of the RM contingent, and the strength of voice of the Bayern contingent, is this GL's transfer of the season if it goes through?
(will edit thread ot collect moar rumours and links and info and s*** like that)

Don't think he'll leave but a Gomez-Higuain partnership would leave opponents shaking at the knees

Yes because Bayern are going to spend 40 million to bench Gomez.

Well, it would definitely fulfill the quality of the "big signing" Hoeneß talked about. But it depends on how much Real would ask.

Uli Hoeneß announced a big signing in attack in summer:
http://www.tz-online.de/sport/fc-bayern/hoeness-will-eine-richtige-bombe-sturm-1554402.html

Translation of key points for English folks:

Hoeneß:
Our biggest worry is as followed: what to do if Gomez gets injured?
We'd need a top quality signing ( eine richtige Bombe), someone who could start for Manu or Barca without problems.

Also notice how Gomez was overplayed this season and is likely to be out form/ get injured next season due to Euros.
They're linked with Pizzaro, Giroud and Higuain at the moment. It's clear that they want a forward eco smile

I think gomez would only thrive best as a lone striker Smile
correct me if i'm wrong. Don't really watch much of bayern, but the thought of benching one of the winger/CM is really depressing :[

Especially ribery+robben combo :O

surely if Higuain leaves RM hes not going to to another club where hes not top dog, and with Robben, Ribery and Shaquiri it wouldnt be easy for him to get much game time out wide either

Well then Higuain would be stupid to go there. He is already in the same position with Benzema.

"If Gomez gets injured" lol. What kind of player do they think Higuain is. To just go there are cover for Gomez in case he gets injured.

On the other hand, we have the Euros this summer, and it is very much possible that either Robben or Ribéry or both might get injured again on international duty, thus leaving Bayern with the problem they had after the WC, too.

thats true, but surely Higuain would be too expensive to bring in as a just-in-case type player

city wouldn't mind if they still want to :3. Especially if Dzeko and balotelli depart.

PSG? Their strikers aren't prominent yet, and they're super rich :3

Just speculating. But yea, 40 mil is a lot. However, Higuian is no doubt super talented, and is still super young

Well, I severely doubt that Hoeneß will pay any fantasy prices, no matter whether Bayern has the money or not.

I know that City and PSG have the money ... and Higuain is undoubtedly a very talented player , but it's just wrong in my opinion to pay for a player 40 milions that plays in one of the most stacked up position today ...

ss

In the German alphabet, ß is a consonant letter that evolved as a ligature of "long s and z" (ſz) and "long s over round s" (ſs). Like double "s", when speaking it is pronounced [s] . In standard spelling, it is only used after long vowels and diphthongs, while ss is written after short vowels. Even though long s (ſ) has otherwise disappeared from German orthography, ß is still used as a ligature and is replaced by 'SS' or 'SZ' in capitalized spelling. Its German name is Eszett (IPA: [ʔɛsˈt͡sɛt], the lexicalized expression for "sz") or scharfes S (IPA: [ˈʃaʁfəs ˈʔɛs, ˈʃaːɐ̯fəs ˈʔɛs], "sharp S").

I agree with EarlyPrototype - Higuain probably won't sign himself on to the next bench, and Bayern probably won't be able to guarantee him playing time.

On the other hand, I'd love to see that move, especially since it would mean that Bayern won't pach their new striker from a fellow Bundesliga outfit.

I know Higuain has played wide occasionally, but I've missed a lot of matches - was he any good wide? Because that would add another dimension, if he was able to cover for either of Ribéry or Robben, he could rotate through all 4 attacking positions Bayern have. He could rightfully expect to start over half of Bayerns matches, then.
