As soon as the Echo write one up I'll be sure to post it. As it stands though, I think I'll take their word over yours.

I'm glad Liverpool are doing this way, keeping things away from the media speculation and surprising us
Everyone take a guess who it might be, or who you'd prefer it to be!!!
I'm hoping for Jovetic, but it's probably someone else.

Everyone is talking in the General Section like we've already signed Borini. WTF?? I can't find a single source other than twatter.

That's probably a good sign, considering the twatter rumours are generally wrong.
Try this link.
Roma forward Fabio Borini is expected to become Brendan Rodgers' first signing as Liverpool manager.
The 21-year-old Italy international worked with Rodgers at the Chelsea academy and on loan at Swansea.
Talks between the parties are ongoing and although the deal has yet to be agreed, the potential fee is likely to be in the region of £8m.
On Monday Rodgers had stated that he was close to making an "exciting" signing.
"We hope to complete a deal this week which will be a real exciting one for the club," he said. "He will be terrific, I'm sure. And the supporters will absolutely love him.
"Going forward hopefully we can bring maybe two or three more and then with the group of players that I already have it'll bode really well for us and provide us hopefully with that strength in the group to challenge in every competition."
Rodgers has admired Borini since the Italian scored scored six goals in just nine Championship appearances while with Swansea towards the end of the 2010-11 season.
The former Parma forward has one international cap and was part of the Italy squad that finished runners-up at Euro 2012.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
Borini? Didn't think it was possible when i suggested him but, well done if it pans out, a very nice fit.
Also...we should care about that Oscar thing...
I've watched a couple games and I think he's worth it....if Sigurdsson was actually wanted, they should at least make an enquiry , contact his agent or something because he is a amazing amazing talent that has somehow slipped under the radar.

Le Sam if your rumored budget is true then Oscar would blow that away in one go.

So far we've had budgets ranging from 10m to 50m according to various journo's on twitter. Probably better to wait than take anyone of them too seriously.

If we get Borini for £8m I'll be happy. Bring in a decent winger from somewhere and we're starting to look ready.

Yes. He went to Roma. He's still allowed to move to another club though. Roma could of either bought him to make a quick profit in $, or they see him in their plans next season. We'll soon find out.

Borini seems to be by now the most trending topic in twatter
Carroll loan is a possibility but not a certainity according to Rodgers interview. . .
Dempsey seeming likely but still now no news up on the reliable sites like BBC & Co.

If Brendan Rodgers is really considering loaning out Carroll then Mr Rodgers can go *bleep* himself, in my honest opinion.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2012-Rumor Crazy Months!
Tbh, it's not a horrible idea under certain circumstances. I like Carroll. I think anybody who has seen my posts over the past season could figure that out. However, there is certainly a possibility that he simply could not function in Rodgers's concept of a CF.Art Morte wrote:If Brendan Rodgers is really considering loaning out Carroll then Mr Rodgers can go *bleep* himself, in my honest opinion.
If that is indeed the case, then a loan move would be the best way to get value from a player who by all accounts under-performed for large stretches of last season. His last few months (including the Euros) have been good, so a loan deal could be just the thing to build on his momentum, if he isn't in the plans of the manager. Any good loan spell could only improve his value for a potential sale.
From an objective point of view, the loan could be the best option if Carroll doesn't fit Rodgers system. I think the most likely explanation right now is that Rodgers wants to see Carroll in training before he makes a final judgement as to his suitability to the system.

why is that?? Its clear carroll won't fit into rodger's pass and move system. Though i'd prefer he was sold altogether.
I honestly don't see carroll improving on that aspect of his game ie mobility and speed. So we should just count our losses and sell him. The earlier the better cos if he stays we will keep trying to change our style of game to adapt him, long balls and crosses. Clearly that's not rodger's style.

I also hope not. . .
Btw . . Roma have confirmed our interest. .
“There is a real interest shown by Liverpool for Borini,” Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini said during today’s press conference in Roma’s pre-training camp in Riscone.

However, i feel Borini & Dempsey are going to be the actual signings. . . . Can't really relate to what Rodger's said "Exciting player"
