Re: Juventus - AS Roma
i agree only that the ref has two choices. One, he can give a red or he can call nothing. Its because Stekenlenberg was the last man and he couldent pull out a yellow according to the rule book
Re: Juventus - AS Roma
and i really support Luis Enrique and everything he is trying to do for roma. Wish all the best

Luis Enrique is poor. We WOULD do much better if we had sticked to Montella.

Tough game for you guys
The red card was too far but I think the game was already out of reach
Roma certainly needs to adjust that defense but I love the attacking options that the team has
I still hope Roma can make third

Kind words we don't really deserve, Luca.
Congrats, brah. Good win for you guys nonetheless.

As for the game...I'll post my thoughts later on this evening.

Should've never been a red card. Either way things weren't going in your side guys. We were just hungry for win and go plus 3 from Milan.
I felt bad for Roma because I have a soft spot for them. I really hope they make the third place.
That being said, if you do make it to Champions League you better fix that freaking defense. So unorganized .
It just wasn't your day, you can do much better.

Re: Juventus - AS Roma
I think it was a penalty but not a red card challenge because the keeper didn't bring Claudio down with his hands but tripped him in the follow through...
I'm actually angry not to see Totti on the field today...
He & Del Piero should've have wrote the final chapter in Serie A book of great Legends today...
The defence needs work & getting more depth in midfield would be good...
Roma should buy Krasic & Elia...
Would love to see them in Rome...

Re: Juventus - AS Roma
Poor Stek must be thinking that ref has it in for him. Same guy that sent him off in the derby.
That aside, losses like this are what make us a better side. Nothing has ever come easy. Ask Juve themselves. They've come all the way from Serie B to the side we all just saw a few ours ago. I think that's fantastic improvement personally.
As for the match itself...where to begin? So many players can't really be rated because they never had a chance to properly impact the game. Perrotta's inclusion is a real head-scratcher though. Plenty of running from him, but absolutely nothing to add on the ball and didn't really do anything defensively. LE's reasoning was probably to get him in and around Pirlo to disrupt his play, but it failed miserably.
Backline was utterly destroyed on so many occassions though I have to commend Rosi and Angel...they never stopped bombing forward. Angel really gave Lichtsteiner something to think about early on, but never really did much. Our CBs were simply disastrous. DDR is clearly a make shift CB and it showed. Doesn't have positioning to handle tricky attackers like Vucinic. Kjaer equally failed to deal with our former player as neither one of them had an answer for how to stop him. They both fought hard, but simply too much was thrown at them by Conte's men.
As for our attack...not much to say...absolutely no service from our overran midfield and when we did have the ball in Juve's half, their impenetrable defense snuffed out everything. Buffon made one save that was incredibly tame and after that, could've put his feet up.
-------------------------------------
Overall, poor game. Though the red card basically ended it as a competition, the warning signs were there from the off. Juve were clearly fired up. We didn't even show up. Just a lifeless, lethargic display.
We play like that against Fiorentina and Napoli and it'll be curtains for our European hopes. I personally will not lose sleep over it though.

Don't worry there are chances that Lazio might get exposed for match fixing/betting scandal and with Napoli game that we have and Udinese dropping point , its not that bad as it looks

Should've stuck with the same players that beat Udinese 3-1.
To much choping and changing again from Mr Enrique.
When will you ever learn.

Lamela is banned for 3 games for that spit on Lichtsteiner.
Stupid, impetuous act from him. Lichtsteiner was a douche for the gesture he made and only did it to provoke a reaction. Classless player by definition.

And I'm sure Lazio fans called him a douche too. Not sure what your point is.

Quote every word. And the difference between Totti's actions and Lichsteiner's actions is that Totti is just cool enough to do that shit, whereas Lichtsteiner is a simple douche, true story.
As for the game, not much to say. We sucked plain and simple. I'm not going to say the penalty and the red completely changed the game, because we were never going to tie it up anyway, but it did piss me off anyway. Quite harsh considering contact was there, but minimal. Also, Marchisio did knock the ball completely out of reach, thus violating one of the criteria for the direct red card. The criteria are, according to the rule book:
- Distance between the location of the foul and the goal: Obviously right in front of goal, therefore this one is valid.
- Probability of keeping possession: The ball would have been completely out of reach, thus this one does not apply.
- The position and quantity of defenders: Two Roma players were near the goal, the ball passed by both of them, so this one cannot apply either.
- The direction in which play is developing: Marchisio was heading towards the goal, so this one is valid as well.
If you want a source for these, here you go: http://www.vocegiallorossa.it/?action=read&idnotizia=35604
For Bergonzi, 2 out of 4 of these was enough to hand out a red card. I find that extremely harsh. In contrast, Julio Cesar was only given a yellow in Inter's match that very morning despite that foul validating 3 out of the 4 points. Julio Cesar then saved that penalty, giving Inter a point, so it is relevant.
It's the red that pisses me off more than anything, but hey here's Curci's chance to shine. Speaking of Curci, I would say he was the best of the worst on Sunday. Nothing positive to say about anyone else really. One of the most boring Roma games I've ever watched, yet I sat through the pain and watched all 90 minutes because I refuse to give up on this team and on this project. Sempre Forza Roma!
