Take it easy there champ
What am I trying to "prove"? I disagree with your claim that timetables for return from injury are shorter in European soccer than American sports....I thought that was relatively obvious but I'll try to be more clear next time so you don't get confused
As for for my age, I know you handle differing opinions about as well as Fox News, what with your seemingly unprovoked rage etc - but age though? What exactly about my post makes you think I'm any younger than you are? You know....except for the fact that I disagree with you
For the record though:

Could have seen it a mile away
Better this way, since he's needed fit for next season.
Not like England ever had a chance :vagi:

To be fair, I really think Capello has largely lost the plot anyway

have to agree with dnmac on this one... that was a strange case where they were unsure what his recovery from the surgery was going to be, and certain information was withheld extensively. most cases though, he's right. WHEN the athletes take the doctor's advice (granted, not always the case), the timetables they're given - both for recovery and for recovery to full playing level (aka incorporating rehab stints etc.) - are much longer than i've seen in soccer. maybe the doctors work differently, maybe they're more cautious, i have no idea, but when the injuries are the same (i.e. a football player tearing an acl vs. a soccer player tearing an acl) the predictions in europe are generally shorter than in the u.s.

Good news, Wilshere was probably rushing to come back anyway making him more prone to a further injury.
Wilshere's a loss for England, but as long as we've got Scotty Parker shielding our back 4, we should do well

Re: Wilshere Officially Ruled Out for Euro 2012
Well, since Wilshere has missed the whole season, it would make no sense to try to play him in the Euros, no way he'd be fit enough.
It's sad, though, a young, talented player like him missing a whole season when he should be developing even further. I hope this injury hasn't dented his career for good.

Yes, this is what I was saying, I thought it was fairly obvious but then again on this forum sometimes you need to explain things over and over again and then it still doesn't even make a dent.
What's funny is that the Peyton Manning example was probably the worst one someone could pick out since there was very little information released about it and he went to Europe for Stem Cell treatments which I'm sure the poster just totally glossed over.
"Football player Peyton Manning has traveled to Europe for stem cell therapy for his most recent injury." -CNN
As for what were talking about, I don't know why there is such a difference as through out most sports injuries are handled much the same way. You do hear of athletes traveling to different countries now a days to get treatments but I can't really put my finger on why in Europe there estimates are generally shorter.
Take Villa for example, he should be out until the start of the 2012-2013 La Liga season with his broken leg. But when it happened in the middle of December they said he would be back in 4-5 months which is basically now. Maybe they just estimate when the injury will be healed and not when the player will return to full fitness, I don't really know.
I'm sure there are cases that can prove otherwise and using one off examples like the Villa example or Manning one can be dangerous but it's just my observation as a whole and I will be the last person to glorify the USA's medical system as I believe were like 37th in the world or something like that in healthcare but again it's just my observation.
It's not a dig at any sport or country it's just something I noticed that whenever I see a player injured and there time table for coming back like 75% of the time it's different from the same injuries over here and I usually think to myself there's no way that's going to happen.
