Are you betting on Euro 2012?

Tell here - if you wish - on what bets you are putting your money on before and during the tournament.

I have myself been struggling with this traditional WC / EURO bet I have with my brother, two of our friends and my uncle. This is our system:

50 euros per head. Winner takes it all, so it's 5 x 50e.

You predict the progressing 8 teams, then you predict the top 4 and who is going to win and who is finishing second. You get one point for:
- getting a team right in the last 8.
- getting a team right in the last 4.
- getting the finalists right.
- correctly predicting who finishes 2nd.
- you get 2 points for correctly predicting the champions.


And it's sooooooo hard to decide!!! We're doing this on Thursday evening and I must have changed my mind a hundred times by now about which 8 teams are going to progress and in which order, who's gonna make the final etc...

Am probably going to place some smaller bets on matches during the tournament.

I put a tenner on Italy @16/1.

Backed RVP @10/1 and Benzema @12/1 for top scorer,5 euro on each.

I put 2 euro on Pirlo to be the player of the tournament at 88/1 and 3 on Ribery @33/1.

Will probably do a few more.

Put a £10 on France and a £10 on Benzema being top scorer.... when i did it both were 15/1.

I also took part in a Skybet Fantasy football league with people on NUFC forum iam on each person put in £2 and goes into a pot and the winner takes the pot.

I'll probably get round to doing more as the tournament progresses.

I bet my best mate a bottle of gin worth about 50 bucks, though her mom totally told her off for betting against Germany.
I say Germany wins it all, she says Spain. But what the f*ck does she know, she's a German of Turkish origins from Berlin, and a Bayern fan, she's obviously oblivious, being for Spain and all. :p

Oh, I also put 20 bucks on Spain and Germany to win, with those odds I still make a profit if either win, I also backed Özil as man of the tournament with 15 bucks, I'll probably bet another 100 to 150 bucks in the next couple days, but only in 5 to 10 bucks a pop bets, I like betting, but I'm not too risk-friendly...

6 euros on greece to win it

1.5 euros for sweden to win it

9 euros on greece to qualify from group stages

3 euros on ninis to be the player to score the 1st goal in poland vs greece

I feel like lumping on Russia at 11/10 to beat the Czech Republic on Friday.That price is way to generous imo.

I will most likely bet after the groups.

I like tournament outright bets....good odds especially b4 it starts....although this Euro is difficult...

Yeah it should be fun but its already getting competitive some quotes

Who is likely to play in defence for NLD's in place of that Joris Mathijsen. Saw on SSN he's unlikely to be fit. Need to replace him.

Tim Krul. No way I'm helping when there is this much dosh on the line.

Also yeah Ribery is a good shout for player of tournament.

Nice to see some betters sharing their thoughts and bets

Although can u explain some of those? What di du bet for NEtherlands vs DEnamrk and whats 80 PLN won 138.19?? Did u bet outright bets?

I bet on Iniesta and Silva simply cos of the high odds And Spain dont exactly have a prolific striker without Villa.... they both had chances today, Iniesta especially, Buffon with a great save to deny hima good start
Not to mention Torres could have scored like 2 but for his finishing

And WTF @ the 1.9 odds of Gomez out scoring Lewand? Thats a ridiculously good bet??? Wtf!? Too bad I dont have that bet, was that for day 1 only or for the whole tournament? Considering Gomez is Germanys main starter and Germany to go further than Poland....surely it must be Gomez

So I figured since Spain have a lot of players who can earn penalties, but wasn't my day

I got unbelievable odds for Germany to win and Ibrahimovic to finish top scorer. (90-1) Granted that bet will essentially be ended tonight if Sweden dont beat us but if they do he has every chance, 35 goals in 44 games for Milan this year and he's been playing far better under Hamren...you never know

With the likes of Gomez and Torres finding the net I don't think Ibrahimovic stands a chance to win the Golden Boot. Those other strikers have got far better teams around them. Good odds, though.
