I had a feeling this would happen
I'm not sure what it was, but something was telling me Wilshere wasn't gonna play in Euro 2012

F*ck me though...England well and truly could not produce a defensive midfielder if their lives depended on it could they?

These medical staffs are toying with me with Rodwell and Wilshire....I can't imagine what it's like for actual England fans.

Since they cant seem to produce a quality DM, they could go the Juve/Milan route - run to Scholes begging on hands and knees (failing that, get the closest thing to him) and put two high-energy runners on either side of him...maybe someone like Milner and someone else

Re: Wilshere Officially Ruled Out for Euro 2012
I honestly don't know why they get injured so often (AFC players). I heard from people who have gone to the Emirates, how hard the staff works on ensuring players don't get injured. Can't for the life of me explain why they get injured all the time.Le Samourai wrote:If Arsenal's medical staff kills this kid.......

Bring Scholes into the fold? Might as well. He regrets not going to SA so he might accept.

Re: Wilshere Officially Ruled Out for Euro 2012
I have been saying this forever. I kept hearing people talking about "when Wilshire comes back this year" and it just made me laugh. He suffered a very serious injury, there was no way he was going to play at all this year and why would anyone want him to?
I hope Spain does the same thing with Villa. I read an article the other day where he was able to hike about a hill and then it said so he should be ready for the Euro's . These guys play at the highest level of competition possible and need to be 100% fit.
The one thing I can tell you from being in the States is that for similar injuries it seems that Europe's time tables for recovery are way shorter then over here for what ever reason.

Completely had me until here...Whaaaaaaat
Kobe hasn't been healthy since 2006
Donovan McNabb came back from a torn knee in 8 months
Iverson was in the hospital more than the doctors who worked there
Curt Schilling in the MLB playoffs with the Sox
Even Tiger won the U.S Open 2 months after arthoscopic surgery with a double stress fracture in his tibia and a torn ACL....and he plays golf ffs!
Sneijder gets a bruise, Forlan pulls a hamstring or weird shit like that and they're out for weeks!....NFL and NBA players play with sprained ankles all the damn time
If U.S layoff periods are longer its cause our athletes play injured to the point where they ruin themselves and have to have major reconstructive surgeries

OK, here we go. I didn't say layoff periods I said Time tables as in when the player gets injured they say it will take the player x amount of weeks/months to be back.
You are talking about players blatantly ignoring what doctors tell them and playing WITH injuries.
Iverson- Every playoff game they had a chart of all the injuries he carried with him all year.
Tiger- Used his club as a cain to finish the tournament because he never recovered.
Curt Shilling was injured and was bleeding through his sock. Hence he was INJURED.
Kobe- Has nagging injuries as most players do but he never let his shoulder fully heal and has played through other injuries which causes other parts of his body to break down.
Please read what I say before you go off on a tangent.
What I'm saying is that over here it's very common when a player gets seriously injured to announce right away he will be out for the rest of the season or it's going to take about 12 months at least for him to be back. Right when Wilshire did his leg I kept telling people there's no way he will be back this year and reports kept comoing out that he will be fine for the CL and then Euros etc etc
In Europe it seems they always think the player will be back sometime that season and the estimates of when they will be healthy again are always IMO way shorter then over here for the same type's of injuries.
For instance when a player nukes his knee over here they will tell you it's going to take 12-16 months at least and will usually be about 2 years until he's back to where he was before he was injured. Over there it's usually about half that long and so on and so on.
Playing through injuries and suffering a major injury you need to recover from are very different things, and LOL at bringing up a couple players that had nothing to do with what I was talking about.

Peyton Manning.....SECOND neck surgery in September of 2011 - people were doing the "will he/won't he" with his return all season...Neck surgery in September and people were thinking he could be back in less than 3 months...

Re: Wilshere Officially Ruled Out for Euro 2012
Dude what are you doing? You just brought up one case and a case where it is and was a very very strange injury that BTW he still is not fully recovered from. He received different opinions from almost every doctor he went to.
And he wasn't telling the media the truth about anything because they just found out recently that he had 4 different surgeries on his neck and he was in contract negotiations for the last two years.
The media barley knew what the surgeries were for as he and the Colts didn't give out much information at all.
There isn't even much of an example to go by for a recovery period for what he's going through. He is trying to grow nerves in his neck and spine FFS not a torn knee.
The stuff you keep bringing up has nothing to do with anything. What are you even trying to prove? How old are you?

Take it easy there champ
What am I trying to "prove"? I disagree with your claim that timetables for return from injury are shorter in European soccer than American sports....I thought that was relatively obvious but I'll try to be more clear next time so you don't get confused
As for for my age, I know you handle differing opinions about as well as Fox News, what with your seemingly unprovoked rage etc - but age though? What exactly about my post makes you think I'm any younger than you are? You know....except for the fact that I disagree with you
For the record though:
