I still have a migraine from head-desking too hard yesterday
How on earth did they forget they were supposed to play football in the last half hour, too? That they are able to play we could see in the first hour, but then? *headdesking some more* Ouch...

Simple.
Badstuber shouldn't be starting for a team like Germany and Bayern. He cost us far too much, from Balotelli to Krasic and now, the fans are really upset with Badstuber, check Bayern forums and comment post, they all want him out of the team, including most Bayern fans on this forum, Hsv fan as well as almost every Bayern fan in Bayern forum and I think they are right.
Badstuber is a terrible CB, when he play alongside Boateng, he force him into making errors, because he has to compensate for too many things.
Re: Ze German Thread
I'm not going into a discussion about Holger Badstuber with you as you have never been in any way objective where he is concerned. He wasn't the sole responsible player for that complete collapse of the German team. The whole defense including Manuel Neuer imploded yesterday.

Re: Ze German Thread
Due to the fact that Jérôme Boateng and Marcel Schmelzer had to withdraw due to injuries, while Bastian Schweinsteiger and Toni Kroos can't join the NT as they suffer from an infect and a stomach flu, respectively, Joachim Löw decided to newly call up Eintracht Frankfurt's Sebastian Jung and Borussia Dortmund's Sven Bender.

Re: Ze German Thread
Jung
Dat kid is here to stay, IMHO.
BTW lol, Khedira, Piggy AND Kroos not available...
LÖW USE THE DOUBLE BENDER!
DO IT FOR ME!
THE DOUBLEBENDER IS THE MOST AWESOME AND CONFUSING LINEUP EVER!
That being said, looking forward to seeing Jung and Neustädter quite a lot, I hope both of them get some minutes. But TBH I'm afraid Löw will just play Lahm Merte Hummels Höwedes in defence.
Westermann being back is a nice nod, though. And more minutes for Draxler, I would love as well.

LOL, I'd love to see the double Bender, too
BTW, I think Roman Neustädter can count himself lucky that the usual suspects at DM are out, so he might get his cap and not just the call-up for the Netherlands match.

Klose and Özil are out, too, lol.
Holtby has received a call-up, even though he was meant to captain the U21 against Turkey that day.
At least we'll see A LOT of new talent^^

Midfield: Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen), Sven Bender, Mario Götze, Ilkay Gündogan, (all Borussia Dortmund), Julian Draxler, Roman Neustädter, Lewis Holtby (all Schalke 04), Thomas Müller (Bayern München), Lukas Podolski (FC Arsenal), André Schürrle (Bayer Leverkusen)
Attack: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
The Ruhrpott NT

Re: Ze German Thread
I still don't understand Löw in one regard though:
He openly speculated trying Reus at CF, yet refuses to try Müller and Schürrle there, who both are, in my opinion, much closer to the classic striker player type than Reus is.
Not that Löw is necessarily wrong, but what the hell?
Also I'm a bit miffed that he didn't call up Kießling - again, and also keeps snubbing Weidenfeller, though Weide just doesn't shut up about it either, so he'll never get a call-up.
BTW I so want to see Jung & double-Bender.
I'm really looking forward for this match, I doubt we'll win, but we sure as hell will learn A LOT. ;D

Yeah, I think Weide could really have been called up there. Hm... Maybe Manuel Neuer will still tell Jogi that he got a cold or somewhat, too. XD

Re: Ze German Thread
Yeah I don't know why Neuer even wants to play friendlies, he never gets to keep a clean sheet with the NT anyway
(Which is one of the reasons I don't trust Löw anymore btw...)

It is all Löw's fault that Manuel Neuer will never manage to reach Iker Casillas' NT records

Re: Ze German Thread
That match was boring as hell, but I'm hugely satisfied that our 3rd team still managed to look even a tiny bit better than the Netherlands team, which wasn't missing much besides RvP.
Also, Höwedes deserves more of a chance than he has been getting so far. Has impressed me in almost all NT matches where he got minutes.
I had to think back to that embarassing Switzerland match before the Euros, where he was one of like two good players in our team...

Well, one thing about the match was good: Manuel Neuer kept a clean sheet for once and wasn't embarassed by his defense again.

Re: Ze German Thread
Germany did well defensively, but we should also remember that 3 of the Netherlands 5 best players were not playing (RVP, Sneijder, Huntelaar), while Robben only played one half. Germany were arguably missing even more though. No Ozil, Schweini, Kroos, Khedira, Klose, or Gomez, and Poldi only played 20 minutes.

Re: Ze German Thread
TBH I expected van Gaal to bring on Dost, or whatever that Wolfsburg striker's name is, he's been boss this season. But what really surprised me was how defensive a van Gaal coached Netherlands played. I guess they really didn't want to lose.

Re: Ze German Thread
I wonder if Van Gaal has a problem with the Hunter. Not letting him play when RVP wasn't in the team was a major case of trolling.

The German U21 were drawn into a rather challenging group for the U21 Euro 2013 in Israel:
Group A:
Israel (hosts)
England
Norwegen
Italien
Group B:
Spanien
Niederlande
Russland
Deutschland
