Re: Falcao
They'd been rotating Falcao a lot tbh. Martial is injured, so it's just him and Riviere as the CFs. Each was supposed to play a half tonight.
Torn ACL according to prelim reports. Full tear. Out of the WC if true.

Nah, it was a bad tackle, but more careless than malicious.

That tackle isn't even that bad. Terribly unlucky is what it is. Not malicious at all.

People need to calmá. It wasn't dangerous or malicious, just very unlucky

Re: Falcao
It was definitely dangerous. It's never the kind of tackle that's going to succeed. He's behind Falcao and the ball is one the opposite side a couple metres away. He's simply not going to get it.
But you understand why he did it. Option B is giving Falcao an open shot in the box. So throwing yourself in like that is probably just instinctive.

Re: Falcao
If Falcao's left leg didn't end up underneath the defender, it would simply be a shit tackle and a penalty. Not one single person would say it's dangerous

A shit tackle isn't always dangerous but a dangerous tackle is always shit.

Re: Falcao
Monaco should've never loaned out Lacine Traore and make use of Germain, instead of trotting Falcao out there tonight.

Yeah that's what I thought when Sportzcy said somewhere there that they only have two (was it?) strikers. Why to loan out a new signing then.

So he should just let the attacker go because he cant get to the ball? People get injured, thats just how it is. To be honest there are very few injuries in football, game has gone soft.

Re: Falcao
Germain is not a CF and has barely played... remember that cup is important for Monaco since they have no Europe this year. So they were always going to play a very strong team.
The only true CFs on the team are Falcao, Riviere and Martial. Martial is injured. The idea was to play Falcao for a half and Riviere for a half.
Nothing you can criticize about this.
It wasn't even that hard a tackle. I've seen a lot worse. This is a physical league and you have to expect contact when you're a striker especially. Falcao hasn't had any issues with tackles this year... his only problem was a hamstring pull. Just one of those things...

Re: Falcao
The doctors are pretty certain it's a fully torn ACL. To confirm, they need to wait 24-48 hours after the injury and get the swelling down. Doing a MRI now is useless because there's too much blood in the injured area to see anything. Once the swelling is down and they do a conclusive MRI, the definitive nature of the injury will be known.

This "he shouldn't have played" thing is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Players get injured everyday people.

Because he is a great player and his presence will enhance the World Cup and not to mention playing in the World Cup is nearly every player's dream and the poor guy's dream got dashed,

Re: Falcao
Damn. Unbelievable.
I really hope one of our strikers (Bacca,Martinez, Muriel, Teo, Ibarbo, Ramos) can step up.
Not sure which out of those are actually gonna go to Brazil
