Re: Formula 1 Season 2012
The German race was all right, but tires are playing too big a part nowadays.
I mean, it's suppose to be the best motorsports in the world but instead of drivers driving their heart out every lap they have to take it easy in order to preserve their tires. I think that's bullshhh.

On the flip side, Art, we are getting to see very very interesting races this season because of the tire issues.

Different race this weekend from the previous two. Surely it won't be like last year and we'll resume to sunny and very hot temperatures at Hungarian GP!!!
Qualie will be so important! Because it ain't an easy track to pass on, and it will also come down to who manages their tires the best.
Come On Ferrari!!! (still believe in you Massa)

not surprised one bit, they had massive upgrades in germany and here in hungary. when they horribly failed with their standard at silverstone, seems they had serious technical meeting at woking, at mclaren base, and paddy lowe and team manager jonathan neale suggested they will bring updates which they did.
team is going for a long break after this race, and factory will be closed... i think its kind of mandatory FIA ruling.... not quite sure about that but yea mclaren brought massive updates.... before the break.
red bull also had to tweak their ECU engine mapping , whether that has slowed red bull a little bit no one knows except them...
mclaren really had some huge upgrade package since german gp, they should have won 1-2 .
new floor, new sidepods, upgraded radiator inlets, diffuser upgrades, rear endplates have been modified a bit compared to the one they had... some minor FW modification too.

Re: Formula 1 Season 2012
There are new speculation surfacing that Giorgio Ascanelli (who happens to be milan fan ^O~V) has left Torro Rosso and speculation that he will join ferrari. he is ex-ferrari mclaren engineer and also race engineer of late senna.
and would be replaced by James Key, who has worked as TD of recently sauber 2010-2011, and force india.
also new rumours surfacing that Mike Elliot who left Renault f1 in November, well has been said to have joined Mercedes AMG f1 as new Head of Aero ... void left by Loic-Bigois, and Biogis name is linked to ferrari.
Tombazis is overlooking aero areas and chief design (chassis) at the same time, so Ferrari are probably looking for new aerodynamicist.
Mike Elliot is ex-renault head of aerodynamics, also has worked at mclaren, Mike was educated at Driffield School and Imperial College, London, where he achieved a PhD in Aeronautics (btw, Nicolas Tombazis is also Imperial College alumni/Imperial College offered a place for Nico Rosberg to study Aeronautics but he declined to pursue racing career)before joining the McLaren F1 team in 1999. He moved to Renault in 2008. There has been speculation that he joined possibly under the recommendation of Bob Bell who is now Mercedes TD and had worked with mike during renault days...
Mercedes f1 hasnt officially revealed him, but seems nico spoiled the surprise early by talking to some minor medias saying he had been talking to Elliot about new ideas in the team.... interesting...

Re: Formula 1 Season 2012
Red Bull remained on the defensive in the Hockenheim Formula One paddock on Friday, as boss Christian Horner fended off the latest cheat claim.
A German magazine this week revealed that, in Canada, the FIA asked the reigning champions to remove a hand adjustable damper system from the RB8.
The rules state that the adjustments can only be made with a special tool, thus ensuring a team cannot secretly make performance enhancing changes during the strict 'parc ferme' period between qualifying and the race.
It is just the latest technical controversy involving Red Bull, hot on the heels of the 'hole in the floor' saga earlier this year, a wheel hub issue, and most recently the outlawed extreme 'engine maps'.
Horner is quoted by Auto Motor und Sport: "We have never adjusted the right height under parc ferme conditions. Neither by tool or by hand."
The report, however, said Horner did not deny the former existence of the hand adjustable system.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Red bull being center of attention yet again .... Red Bull themselves know what they are doing is very much in tightrope and may get themselves in serious trouble....

1 hour 15 minutes Track was wet as hell when GP3 race started but it dried fully by the time GP2 race ended. If there's no further rain we are looking at a dry race...I think Porsche Super Cup is on ATM.It looked sunny as well.

I think that rule is pretty stupid TBH.Teams should have unlimited amount of tires and start on whatever they want.I don't see the point of those limits and drive on what you qualified rule.

Re: Formula 1 Season 2012
also after this race would be interesting lot talk about drivers market. lewis is out of contract by the end of season, still negotiating with Ron Dennis about new deal.
Meanwhile, nothing will save Massa from loosing that Ferrari seat for next season.
Only thing i believe massa is staying at ferrari is due to his management representative, Nicolas Todt who is the son of Jean Todt... former ferrari team principal...
Ferrari has been exploring lots of candidates, Di Riesta, Sergio Perez, Nico Rosberg was likened by Montezemolo until he signed new long term deal with Mercedes. webber was linked as well and he has signed 1 year extention with red bull. Vettel is out of contract by the end of 2013.
Button has extended until end of 2013. and just today new report suggested that Adrian Sutil management was in ferrari motorhome.
Nico Hulkenburg was also linked but he says he is ok where he is at force india.
so lots to choose from for Ferrari .... unfortunately for massa if he leaves ferrari he wont get competitive car because all competitive seats will be taken.
Sauber is also considering both perez and kobayashi future, meanwhile Kovalainen and Jaime Alguesuari is linked with sauber.
Force India boss meanwhile is willing to give Jules Bianchi a full time seat if seat opens up.
i bow to him because Mallya has given future to promising drivers... great man!!!
meanwhile schumacher is ready to extend his contract with mercedes and they will announce possibly by october.

i agree, It make race more entertaining and drivers pushing the car to limit ... we will see more aggressive race then...
i with with same wavelength here.... we want some aggressive races aggressive pit strategies..

I would take Grosjean in the second Ferrari seat in a heartbeat. His contract runs out this season,I'm surprised he's never been mentioned as an option.

Eric Bouiller is the representative for Grosjean... so i doubt Grosjean would move elsewhere... Bouiller was the one who gave him second chance so... i think Grosjean will stay loyal...
interestingly , new paper talk suggested that Kimi Raikkonen is another candidate to ferrari seat .....

I guess it depends on whether Ferrari decided to have a 2nd driver as always or two equal drivers.

btw vibe ur well informed on grosjean.. yes his contract run out by the end of the year... but he will probably renew.
Lotus has been firm that by 2013-2014 they will be fighting for championship.... and already they have built a great car capable of winning constructors...

doubt Ferrari want Equality... they have always wanted 2nd fiddle playing driver with a champion driver...
so they probably will look for that.
though Domenicali says never say never to Vettel... also, alonso who has long term contract says he would have no problems seeing vettel as his partner...

Re: Formula 1 Season 2012
Mercedes AMG f1, seems to be going yet another technical staffs reshuffle within the team, says some minor sources after some disastrous mid season performance.
Since Loic Bigois left void in senior aerodynamics, Mike Elliott has taken the role as Senior Aerodynamicist, and Mercedes has confirmed to gupdate.net though yet to officially announce him.
though in media there are some vast speculation to what will happen to Aldo Costa, Geoff Willis, and Bob Bell, quite high profile technical staff who joined from early april 2011, to late december 2011, i am convinced they are very much part of the project of next W04 car.
actually i am pretty sure Aldo Costa and Willis has already been working by now on W04 designing and planning.
seems, though mercedes board has run out of patience, and is demanding explanation and fast improvements within the team.
W03 i guess cant be improved that much, though car performance is definitely falling because of lack of development, that mercedes hasnt brought any major updates since Monaco GP where Nico Rosberg finished 2nd.
Loic Bigois, who was sacked by Mercedes in June and is set to become Head of Aerodynamics for Ferrari at the start of September.
