Lukas Podolski agreed to join Arsenal after snubbing an approach from Manchester United.

The 26-year-old will move to the Emirates this summer in a £11million deal.

And according to The Sun, the striker was lured to Arsenal over a move to the Barclays Premier League champions because manager Arsene Wenger speaks fluent German.

Podolski's move to Arsenal was expected to be made official this week.

But Cologne are set to delay any announcement with the German club fighting to beat relegation from the Bundesliga.

The most comforting thing for Arsenal supporters has to be that Raphael Honigstein has been sure the deal is sealed & done for weeks - and Honigstein really isn't a knee-jerky or gullible pundit.

Yh Viva, to me this deal reminds me of our deal for Yohan Cabaye last summer.

Everyone knew it was done, the player did, both clubs did, the fans did.

But we refused to comment until the transfer window opened even after Lille's manager said on the final day of season we still denied it Laughing

Podolski is coming iam certain of it, its just a matter of when not if.

How many times has it been reported that he's signed 'officially'?

Not trusting it until Arsenal.com publish or Wenger comes out and says he's signed Evil or Very Mad

If van Persie didn't have such horrible luck with the posts, he'd be one of those guys.

Arteta was also a little more loose than usual before his injury. Godsicky had it back in the day.

But yeah... sometimes you just can't walk the ball into the net, especially against rubgy teams.
