Now that Basel proceeded after beating Lech Poznań in both legs, their opponents can be Maccabi Tel-Aviv FC (ISR), FK Partizan (SER), Malmö FF (SWE), KF Skënderbeu (ALB), or Astana (KAZ)

Of these options, Basel definitely wouldn't like meeting Maccabi Tel Aviv again as they already played against them twice (!) last season (in CL Quali and EL Last 32).

FC Basel 1893 managed to get kicked out in the quarter final of the Swiss Cup by FC Sion 4:3 after penalties, but they are still runaway leaders of the Swiss Super League. Right now the Swiss league is in their winter break until the beginning of February 2016.

This weekend, FC Baselona managed to win their 7th Swiss Championship in a row (of 19 Super League titles altogether) with 5 matchdays still to go cheers
