sticky it already :coffee:

And may i suggest replacing Abate's facts with this one ? just a suggestion , i just think it is more "elementary" to have this thread stickied than Abate's facts.

Yes. Look at the OP, it has "No CL" written next to the players who are not included. The rest of the squad is available for the CL.

Thanks

In response to the edit: I was hoping for another period of great performances from Pato like at the end of last season, but it seems that his problems are just getting worse. Boateng is becoming injury prone, Nesta already is injury prone and Cassano is out for the season. I doubt we will see our starting XI in action ever again.

btw, it's good to see that you're posting more often now Milan31 cheers

I'm hoping nesta will be alright. It seemed like he took a little knock and was mostly just tired. We definitely need him for the second leg.

Galliani: "Abate will surely be back and maybe another player".. "We will see if Pato can get healed in the US and make it back for Barca".

He only took part in warm-up with the squad though, the rest of his training was part of his own personal regime

I agree, no way he'll be back before season's end unfortunately. Euro's if he's lucky.

yeah just read that, GREAT news! It seems he plans on resting Abate for Catania and playing him vs. Barca though.

Abate for the first goal? The man was at a standstill and was caught complete off guard at a full speed Messi who just got the ball by him on that occasion with his pass, if Zambrotta and Silva were aware of Pedro than it would not have been a goal but a routine stop.

Abate was immense for the whole game and stopped Pedro and Villa for yr whole game when they were on his side

Abate totally nullified Pedro at Camp Nou, what are you talking about? Having him back is a huge boost, will be vital for defense and counter attack.<br>

On a more positive note for Milan, Antonio Cassano, who has been out of action since undergoing an emergency heart procedure last November, is nearing a return to first-team duty.

Allegri admitted that he is optimistic of having the forward, who played a minor role in training on Thursday, available for the Serie A title run-in.

"I can't use Cassano until the doctors give him the green light,” the 44-year-old coach said. “But I hope that he'll be ready for the final part of the season."

The Rossoneri boss is also hoping that Alexandre Pato, who has been plagued by thigh problems this season, will soon be available for selection again after visiting an Atlanta-based specialist this week.

"Pato will return from the USA," Allegri revealed. "He's feeling fine. We will evaluate his condition on Sunday to find out when he can play again."

Elsewhere, Allegri confirmed that right-back Ignazio Abate is fit again after a thigh problem but may not be risked against Catania on Saturday.

"Abate has returned from injury, but I still have to decide whether to use him from the start tomorrow or not," he admitted.

"[Massimo] Ambrosini is fine, and I don't think that he will have problems with playing tomorrow and also perhaps on Tuesday.

"[Alessandro] Nesta and [Clarence] Seedorf returned against Barca after having not played for a long time. That's why I'm resting them against Catania.

"[Mark] van Bommel has back problems. We will evaluate his condition in the next few days to see if he will be ready for Barca."
