Formation and Tactics Empty Formation and Tactics

Post by Casciavit Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:22 am

Well their have been many threads since the departure of Silva and Ibra on which new formation we should play now that their gone but I think we should just make this an official thread and post our ideas and ill post mine.

I know the likelihood of ever changing from 4-3-1-2 to a different formation is less than one percent, but their are a couple formations that would work better with Milan current string of players rather than a 4-3-1-2.

3-5-2 It works very well with our current players heres a look at it.

Thats how it would look like on paper It's a really good team with Abate and Emanuelson as our wingers/wingbacks Defending and Attacking. Then we have our two attackers Pato and Robinho then 3 defending. Nocerino Monto and Boateng all have decent defensive qualities and Decent Attacking I thinking this team would do wonders.

Do you guys have a different formation that you think would work better to milans strengths than a 3-5-2.

We simply cannot have a 3 defender system, because our CBs are so weak. Moreover, Abate is not particularly good going forward.

But when Emanuelson and Abate track back it forms a 5 man defence as well as the 3 midfielders tracking back.

It could work, but we'd get destroyed by a team that has a fast counter attack.

Also Zapata is experienced in a 3 man defence. My only worries like you said is the counter attacking threat we need a fast defence. But I still think its the best formation to use with our current string of players. And for more protection for the defenders we can put a holding midfielder instead of them instead of a deep lying play making one.

I think even a simple 4-4-2(1-1) would work better with our current squad.

the midfield is pressing too much, but if abate and emanuelson were to play as wingbacks it could work well. plus 3 man defense is always a risk unless we have absolutely strong CBs.

would have worked wonders had we kept nesta silva and play mexes together.

yeah i like this tactics but midfield needs to work incredibly hard because a mistakes would expose the midfield.

DS is clearly better than Abate. If anything, Abate should take Antonini's place.

De Sciglio was such a boss at right back his crosses were pretty accurate did well going forward. Abate's has been playing on the right side all his career if its winger midfielder wingback full back hes always been deployed on the right side. Moving him to the left side would just make him a worse player. Iv'e always been agansit full backs who play with their left foot on the right side or right foot on the left side.

Formation and Tactics Empty Best 11? (no injuries)

Since we are focusing on youth, might as well play our best young team as possible. We should have kept Maxi

Robinho > El sharaawy, Pato
even if we're focusing on the youth... El Shaarawy can come in as a sub..

Formation and Tactics Empty Re: Formation and Tactics

Given the new arrivals, I would play with a 4-3-3 like this:

Abbiati (Amelia)

Abate (De Sciglio) Zapata (Acerbi) Mexes (Yepes) Didac Vilà (Emanuelson)

Montolivo (Flamini) De Jong (Ambrosini) Boateng (Nocerino)

Bojan (Niang) Pato (Pazzini) Robinho (El Shaarawy)

Most of all, I woud love to see Emanuelson or Didac instead of Antonini and I think Bonera is the worst defender of the team.
Also, Boateng is not a real number 10 (he doesn't deserve that number) and not a striker: he is a midfielder and he should play there.

welcome! I'd like to see Didac at LB too, but he's out until matchday 8. Most people here (if not all) agree about Boateng not being a no. 10.

Thanks, i'm happy to join this forum! Wink

I know about Didac, that was a general idea for the season. Right now, i would try Emanuelson as LB and only use Antonini when we need to defend. I don't understand why Allegri doesn't see Emanuelson as a LB.

Emmanuelson is definitely not the solution to our left back problems, De Sciglio and Vila are our only hopes right now.

I was thinking about Milan to a switch to a 4-3-3. And I was thinking instead of pato being a number 9 striker sort of guy how about a false number 9 Patos fast and has that samba flare he can wreck havoc.

We have signed Nigel De Jong (great signing) I think with no injures we should play like this

----------------------------------Abbiati
Abate--------------Zapata----------------Yepes------------De Sciglio

----------------------------------De Jong
-----------------------Montolivo---------Prince

----------Robinho----------------------------------El Shaarawy
------------------------------------Pato

^ Replace Yepes with either Mexes or Acerbi and that's how I would lineup the team as well.
