Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Enjoyed Black Flag though I didn't like the ship battles, which were key to advancing throughout the game. I mean it made sense, but it took me forever to get through that game for that reason.

My only grip with the game is being forced to play side missions to be enough lvl to do main story. This also extends the main story from 7+ to 30+ which is cheap af.
I assume Odyssey is the same with a greek setting so i’ll keep it on hold till july or something.
Black Flag next AC game whenever I can be bothered.
Odyssey is much more grindy from that aspect, Origins is quite tame in terms of needing to do side quests to level up etc.
So holding it off is probably a good idea, Black Flag is great.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Been planning to get into Assassins Creed for a while now and have not continued since part III which was rather underrated aside from the terrible Conor.
Yet Ubisoft churning sequel after sequel turns me off and knowing me I will go through all of them.
But Jesper Kyd returning for Valhalla makes it a firm decision for me that I will.
He is the Hans Zimmer of video game composing. Very talented composer just odd choice of games to compose for post AC: Brotherhood.

Same, I loved the game but hate ship battles so Black Flag was a mixed bag for me
I would hurry past enemy vessels when possible to avoid encounters, it was pathetic

Yeah that was my original tactic, but I realized I had to actually do at least some of the battles when my ship was just too weak for the battles in the later missions in the game. Was getting wrecked by like 2 and 3 shots, even while bracing.
I ended up fully embracing ship battles in Odyssey though. I still didn't like them, but it was a lot easier to upgrade the ship as I progressed through the story than in Black Flag.

Odyssey is the same with needing to grind to lvl up for main missions? I see on howlongtobeat it’s 10 hours more than Origins.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:LeVersacci wrote:Enjoying Origins so far. First AC i’ve played since Unity (Not played Black Flag yet)

Triggering me that I do 1-2 main story then suddenly too low for next one. I enjoy the side missions but it’s so cheap by Ubisoft.
Any news on the grind with Valhalla? Right now I assume it’s literally Origins/Odyssey with a viking theme.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Odyssey is more grindy.
The developers claim that they've heard the complaints with regard with grind and length of the game etc and it won't be the same with Valhalla.
But we won't know until we see reviews etc.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
Ubisoft went from being the Anti-EA to worse than EA who have segments of creativity in their sectors.
Bar Ubi's Montreal section they are trash and even then the latter has gone down.

Should just do a Prince of Persia and reboot the series with a new IP.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Looks like Origins being made for the 3rd time lol.

Or give us a new Prince of Persia game.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
At this point this game is not even AC. Recent titles have been carrying the name only cause AC is an established brand and brings publicity.LeVersacci wrote:Should just do a Prince of Persia and reboot the series with a new IP.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Looks like Origins being made for the 3rd time lol.

Looks so fcking filthy. From the game itself, to the story, everything is beautifully put together to make Valhalla an unforgettable experience. Even the music is an absolute scorcher!
Can't wait to go for the hunt again.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
I read the previews, they honestly sound really promising.
I might buy it earlier than expected if the promise actually holds up.

How’s the reviews? This basically a game that I will only pick up if it gets good reviews and the grinding/time gating is gone.

It's just previews atm, we won't get reviews for a couple of weeks.
Just a couple of them saying the characters they came across and quests they played were more interesting than usual so it piqued my interest.
Obviously i need to know more information before i make any sort of purchasing decisions.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
all previous footage looked like shit...until now. Looks solid. Still pissed it's releasing a week before Cyberpunk. But I'm very hyped for it. First AC in 6 years for me.

Re: The Official Assassin's Creed Thread
That's why I'm waiting most likely.
But i might get it after my first Cyberpunk playthrough instead of 2nd or 3rd like i originally was planning on.
That's assuming it's good of course.
