Teemu Pukki will be leaving Schalke 04 for Celtic Glasgow as of today. The clubs already agreed on the transfer and Pukki was released from his contract at Schalke - he only needs to put his signature down at Celtic now. It's a pity it didn't work out for Pukki at Schalke as he was quite a fan favourite. Sad

If Schalke do end up with Ade, they will not only suffer this season, they will have some long term problem (financial and moral) too. There are few players I'm so disgusted about. Go ade :-)

I think I read that KPB will play the 10 and Julian Draxler is supposed to play on the wing, at least against Bayer tonight.

I still hope they will got Yann Sommer in due time. Next year he'd be in the last year of his contract IIRC. This season, Schalke unfortunately don't look like getting a new GK, from all I have read recently.

I doubt that Schalke will go for Adebayor now that they got KPB, as they do have to look after their money a bit now.

Dresden!!! Isn't it a club from former DDR!!! I think they along with another were included in the unified league.

Yup. Dynamo Dresden were one of the most successful clubs in the GDR and played in the Bundesliga from 1991 to 1995, until they lost their licence as they amassed debts they couldn't sustain. Then they were relegated to the 3rd Liga and even had a spell in the 4th division, but recently got back into the 3rd Liga. By the way, the black and yellow they use are the colours of the city of Dresden.

Well, as things currently stand, the first CL fixture against Chelsea in London might become a veritable disaster.

Schalke currently have 11 (in words: eleven) players out with injuries:
Fabian Giefer (GK), Benedikt Höwedes (CB), Felipe Santana (CB), Jan Kirchhoff (CB), Sead Kolasinac (LB), Christian Fuchs (LB), Joel Matip (CB/DM), Marcel Sobottka (DM), Leon Goretzka (CM), Max Meyer (AM), and Jefferson Farfan (LW).

That means their line-up could look like this:

Fährmann
Clemens - Friedrich - Ayhan - Aogo
Höger - Neustädter
Sam - Boateng - Draxler
Huntelaar

18-year old Marvin Friedrich only had his Bundesliga debut on Saturday when he was subbed in for the last 20 minutes in the match against Borussia Mönchengladbach. On the plus side, he has the title as Germany U19 Euro Champion 2014.
19-year old Kaan Ayhan is in his first senior year.
Both kids are from Schalke's famous Knappenschmiede.

I'm just not sure that they will manage to score more goals than the defense will allow. Ralf Fährmann was very good recently, but there is only so much he can do when the defenders don't help him much. (Against Gladbach, he was by far (!) the best Schalke player despite allowing 4 goals. Without him it could well have ended in double numbers.)

So now Jens Keller was sacked after all. The new coach will be Roberto di Matteo who got a contract till 2017.

Well, looks like Clemens Tönnies and Horst Heldt get what they deserve for the way they treated Jens Keller. I never thought he was as bad has he was made by the media. RDM's idea of Schalke is absolutely abysmal compared. 100% PTB Hoofball

Schalke 04 tried to lure Gladbach's Max Eberl to the Veltins Arena as new sports director since January 2015 - but Eberl told Schalke "Thanks, but no thanks", and so the royal blues are still stuck with Horst Heldt...

FC Schalke 04 used a 6 mio Euros release clause to sign Werder Bremen's Argentine striker Franco di Santo. He'll get a contract until 2019 and KPB's number #9.

He was one of my favourite players when he was younger. Sadly, there were no improvements, although he had great potential to become a top class player.

However, I'm eager to watch him at Schalke.

Well, Thilo Kehrer is a really gifted versatile defender and Schalke tried really hard to extend his contract.

As a matter of fact, they thought he was still unter contract with them this season as he signed a 3 year contract as 15-year old that included an option of one year extension after the 3 years ran out, but it seems that this was void under FIFA rules (as under age players can only sign 3 year contracts).

But as Thilo Kehrer (or his agent, or both of them) decided that the grass might be greener elsewhere, they simply decided that this extension doesn't concern him anymore and he simply didn't show up when training started. As he allegedly didn't react to any attempt of the club to contact him, they were obviously not amused.

So the player is pretty good football-wise, but the way he disappeared makes his character a bit questionable IMO. Or the agent's character, that is, but then, agents are usually evil in any case. ^^

Schalke captain Benedikt Höwedes extended his currently 15 year long stay with Schalke for another 3 years until 2020 (that is, originally his contract would have ended 2017).
