Ostracization of Sahin continues. Been benched for a long time. Can't even get in ahead of Henderson, Shelvey, or Suso. And today Lucas was replaced by Carra in the middle instead of Nuri

I dont understand the issue here..Despite a few hiccups he has been superb for Liverpool...Maybe Sahin dosent fit to Rodgers tactical gameplay.

He got destroyed by Diaby against Arsenal and was flop against Stoke. So those 2 games behind he has still been shat?

He's not been shat [sic] but he's not been influential either. After a strong start he's simply been a passenger in most of the game's he's played in. Allen by virtue of being our only option at CDM, Henderson due to his workrate, Shelvey for his willingness to get forward in attack, and Gerrard by name alone all sit above him in the squad... and rightly so I'd say. Sahin needs to make an impression when he gets his chances (which he's continued to get) in the EL and when other players need rest, but he's failed to do so.

I've watched the games. He's had more purpose with his passing than Allen but he isn't as mobile and as a result players are somewhat reluctant to pass to him. It doesn't help that he's playing as a makeshift attacking midfielder for perhaps the majority of the time.

There would be a pretty simple way to allow him to flourish, that is, put him in his role and give him touches, but I'm not sure that's in the best interest of the club seeing as they have no buy option.

A player like him can only have so much influence as he has his teammates trust and he simply doesn't have it and likely never will.

Will be a bleak year barring injury to those ahead of him, specifically Allen.

I would love him back at Madrid as Essiens replacement but that's in my dreams.I'm personally troubled by the way his career has stagnated, he's too good a player to endure such BS.

I agree with free, not about the mediocrity of the buli, but that it is quite possible that he just had one great season in Germany and is unable to replicate that form in different systems, with different players, with different coaches and in different countries.

And when since was the EL the barometer for the quality of a league?

What I said when Liverpool loaned him:

As I've said before, everytime he got a appearance for us he was average at best. That said, he missed a whole season and had a knee injury. Can't blame him tbh. It's gonna take awhile for him to start performing for you imo.

Predicted this TBH, he was pretty bad for us aswell when he got his appearances. I always said I understood why Mou ostracized him, he honestly isn't better than Granero in his current form.

What is this "1 good season" non sense? Sahin was wanted by big clubs since his U17 World Cup performances, he made his debut when he was 16 years old and since then he always was going to be good. He didn't have 1 good season, he had other good seasons when Dortmund was a midtable team and the average football fan wouldn't watch Dortmund back then. Even at Feyenoord people still love him because of his loan spell.

At Real Madrid, Mou preferred Granero and Diarra for whatever reason, even though his performances were excellent whenever he was on. They even played him at LB, tells you all how he was treated at Real Madrid. While at Liverpool I saw him play in a more advanced position because that clown Rodgers loves his son Allen to make his sideways passes.

I would always welcome a talent as Sahin at Arsenal if Liverpool don't want him anymore.

Urban, Rodgers isn't really to blame here. Sahin wasn't constantly played in an advanced position. He played there like 3 times and that's when he scored his three goals for us. He's been average at best at CM. Did exactly what your making fun of Allen for, made those stupid sideways passes and nothing else.

You can have him btw. He's not the type of CM we need anyways. Neither is Allen. We needed someone like Dembele, Modric, or Hernanes to play next to Lucas and Gerrard.
