My honest opinion is Spain are boring and lifeless team who are just about played out.

They need new names and faces, Isco, Thiago and the like.

If not already, the time is fast approacing.

De Gea is another name who's time is coming and with Iker rusting away on the bench, its time.

It wont happen, but the question here is who "should" not who will.

they are one dimensional, especially since they play without strikers/forwards. At Barca there is Messi, but Spain doesn't have a Messi. Isco and Thiago should start in the WC IMO. Secondly, they need a RB that can attack, Arbeloa offering nothing.

Casillas
Azpilicueta/Carvajal - Pique - Ramos - Alba
Busquets - Thiago
Mata - Iniesta - Isco
ST/Soldado/Llorente

If Busquets continues to play like last season, and Martinez continues to improve, the latter could take Busquets' place.

Busquets had a good season last year. Also Martinez may now be a CB under Pep.

I think Spain need to start pressing properly. Against Italy they were sitting back at times.

Valdes has been much in form since the beginning of the season he deserves to start ahead of Iker right now, considering he hasn't even played a match.

Busquets had a down year last season but not because of much he did wrong at all, but other than that I more or less agree with your post. The only problems Busquets had were being without any defensive help in midfield because Xavi, Iniesta and/or Cesc failed to press effectively or provide cover tracking back effectively. So obviously, he struggled.

So far he has started the season off brightly.

But anyway the truth is, both he and Martinez could/should probably start together. They would miss Alonso's direct passing which can open things up for them, but at the same time if they played with actual forwards they wouldnt require his direct balls so much anyway.

But its irrelevant, none of this will happen. We can already predict Spain's starting 11 just aslong as everyone is free of injury.

And without Guardiola's ideas to copy, its going to be the same boring crap we already seen.

If last weekend was anything to go by, Busquets, Iniesta and Cesc together worries me more than encourages me.

Also, Pedro looks like he better improve or Alexis has taken his place.

Finally, aint nobody copying from Del Bosque's worn out leather face.

everybody wants to see someone new with Spain at this point, but i think we have to hold past the next world cup. then it will be finished of Arbeloa, either Carvajal or azpi will take over, De gea in the goal, i think Isco by then will make himself a starter.

only missing piece is an elite CF. Morata is the bst u21 atm but it will take a lot for him to start in madrid but it's not impossible. his form with spain u21 is great
