I wanna make this simple. We each post a team and 7 subs and we compare them against each others'. We can only choose 18 players once so choose carefully. This thread is made for the enormous potential debates that could be had. Imagine a team lead by Xavi and Zidane coming up against a team of Maldini and Nesta.

Coach: Jürgen Klopp (or Arséne Wenger or Jogi Löw, either of those 3 tbh, since Beckenbauer can't both coach and play.)

Explanation: Kaiser and Matthäus play free roles, but are primarily deployed as ball winners, and to initiate attack, when in doubt, the Kaiser will drop deep and form a stable back four. All four defenders are also decent attackers if need be, and both of Mathäus and Beckenbauer are great at winning the ball, with Cruyff and Netzer also having decent enough skills to help out, since Diego probably won't.

Podolski and Müller can both interchange positions and either can drop deep, but possession will be key and usually maintained, except when someone scores, which will happen a lot with this attack.

We press up high, and we transition to attack almost instantly. We will risk losing the ball if it means a chance on goal.

In case of being truly held off the opposite goal, Podolski of, Ronaldinho on, and either dribble through or dive for free kicks, which Dinho or Netzer will take. Or get penalties, which a German will take. Preferrably Sammer or Müller.

Very nice post, more like this please. If we know why you chose a certain team, it will make battles that much more interesting.

Don't mistake this for ridicule, but how much can your midfield create? I've only seen Zannetti and as far as I know, Matthäus and Redondo are more defense minded?

Thats why I have Messi and Maradona for!!! but Yeah I need more creativeness!!

Matthäus was basically able to do everything, played a decent #10 if needed, but I prefer him as a possession machine, a bit like a more elegant, yet dumber, Ballack.
