Who did you choose as Male Shepard?
Re: Mass Effect Thread
It doesn't feel at all that a Mass Effect game is releasing. It feels like a spinoff like Gears Of War Judgement is coming out.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
This is EA's doing tbh, seeing as that they have hardly shown anything.
I'm hyped though because it's Mass Effect and I expect it will be good, not fussed if it sucks though seeing as the month is so stacked I'll just play something else lol.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y510p which was more than good enough to play the original trilogy but it definitely won't be able to play this game, or any other new ones for that matter, at even a decent quality.
Is it worth waiting and saving to invest in a new laptop or get a new graphic card or play it on PS4? Keep in mind, I am not technologically savvy.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
We are approaching the completionist aspect very differently because we've done and learned a lot from Inquisition," Condominas says. "But we've also observed what other games have been doing, like The Witcher."
Condominas continues, stressing that bigger isn't always better in that sidequests must be "meaningful" in order to be impactful—something The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in particular carried off particularly well. "And it was very important for us that the quantity of scope doesn't downgrade the quality of whatever you are doing there."
"What we have now is based more around agreeing and disagreeing," he continued. "The reason I like that is because in the trilogy it’s like, 'I'm gonna play Paragon,' and then you know which way you're moving the stick on every conversation. You don’t have to think about it, because you're just going to hit Paragon every time."
This new system is designed to get away from binary moral choices, to encourage players to actually pay attention to conversations, and choose dialog options that make sense for their character. "With agree and disagree it changes by the circumstance and it changes by the character you’re talking to," Walters said, "so you have to actually be more engaged in what's going on, to know if you're going to do that."
The new system also includes four different tones of voice, which "basically allow other types of characters to express them[selves] in one of four different ways, and sometimes one of two different ways," Walters confirmed. "And I think that gets back to that more traditional role-playing sort of feeling which is less about 'Do I want to be good or bad,' and more about 'How do I want to express myself?"

Re: Mass Effect Thread
seems like they're going to be doing what I said they should in terms of the story, there won't be some big galactic threat on the level of the reapers, instead they're going to tell more grounded, personal stories within the world. Think that's the right move. You can't really top the reaper's in terms of threat to the universe and ME was at it's best in 2 with the companion quests IMO. Still waiting for reviews however as I don't trust Bioware nowadays. I think it'll be good though.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
Not too fussed about the dialogue stuff, i just felt like posting it just because.
It's the quest stuff which i'm excited about, i was really concerned about it after Inquisition so i'm just happy to hear it.
If it's dialogue speak the reviews will tell us that, i'm not particularly concerned. If it's true then great, if not i'll move on to Zelda or something lol.
Not a big deal.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
tons of new previews out since gaming publications got to play a few hours
lol why would they do that?
One big negative, however, is the removal of the powers wheel, and with it the ability to command squadmates to use specific abilities.
lol why would they do that?

Based on what I played of Mass Effect: Andromeda, I don’t think people who haven’t played the original Mass Effect trilogy will have any issue understanding what’s going on. Meanwhile, there’s clearly plenty to chew on for returning Mass Effect fans.
Some guy in the comments section summarised for us lazy pos
For those who don't wanna read:
- dialogue choices are better
- animations aren't great
- each planet feels like a different game!
-customization is ok
- the new class system allows for a lot of diversity
- sound and enemy variation is awesome!
- crafting is simple and effective
- the tempest is similar to the Normandy but looks a lot better
-there are some performance issues with frames, audio stops and dialogue being unresponsive. (They did note this was a prerelease problem)
All in all I'm very excited for the game sucks about the animations but it sounds like a good time. And we haven't even heard about the multiplayer aspect yet!

How does Bioware still not get to do good animations when we are halfway into the new generation.

Re: Mass Effect Thread
Honestly if they nail most of the things being talked about in the previews i think it will be a great game.
Performance stuff is a bit worrying though, hopefully it's ironed out.
