I have played it lol, i don't like the game deal with it. Combat system is trash tier IMO.

You see that's the problem with you. You don't like Origins because of the combat system (perfectly acceptable opinion) and then you say ME1&2 are great games.

Easier to by pass bad combat with guns than it is with swords and mage shit imo.

I haven't really played a combat revolving around magic and hand to hand combat which is actually good.

I liked Witcher 3s because of the signs, potions, oils, bombs etc etc combined with sword combat but admittedly the hand to hand melee combat in isolation isn't very good. I just get around it because of everything else.

I struggle with Skyrim and Oblivion for the same reasons, the hand to hand combat is just straight up trash and i can't get past it.

Also the characters and story IMO at least are not good enough to want to push through it IMO, in Mass Effect they were.

DA combat system wouldn't be all that different with guns though as you only order your lads what to do. Having a gun or a bow ends up being the same (just look at KOTOR).

I actually agree that usually close combat in games is poor and funny enough I actually think the only way not to turn it into trash is to implement an indirect style where you just order your team what to do like in DA, Kotor etc - however you still have to like the system and also DA combat was still trash.

Anyway the thing is ME had an absolutely abysmal combat system. I get that you prefer a game with guns but it was just so very bad. ME2 for example was just cover-shoot-repeat all game. No challenge, no variety.

Btw I agree with you that the DA story and characters were not good enough though I don't really think they were all that in ME lol. Some of the characters were nice but certainly not the story.

It's basically a poor mans Gears from a mechanics standpoint gameplay wise, not exactly hard for me to ignore it really.

There's nothing special about i agree, but it's not bad enough for me to hate it unlike most Melee based games have the tendency to do.

It's not that i prefer games with guns btw, i just think it's a lot easier to implement a working combat system with gunplay and cover system than it is hand to hand melee.

ME 1-2 and Origins had Bioware my fav studio last gen for a while

DA2 was garbage and ME3 was a noticeable decline

DA:I was trash too IMO but I didn't play it enough, maybe it got better

I've stayed pretty dark on Andromeda stuff btw. Do we know any details about characters/story yet.

No way they can top the story in terms of scale from the Trilogy so I hope they make it a focused personal story this time.

It's trash.
Not the system itself but the actual result. You don't use a system like that when you don't have to care about tactics in the game. And even if you'd have to use tactics the fights lack variety.

Kotor was the same btw. Can be fun at first but in the end you do the same stuff in every single fight and considering you don't actually DO a lot yourself the fights are just extremely boring.

I don't know why they have to top the scale of the previous story? Its fine even if its a small scale conflict, as for the personal thing, the devs said they kept a low number of squad mates (i'm not gonna say the number because i dont know if you want to know/be spoiled) in an effort to strengthen the relationship between the characters, they also said Zack Ryder is going to be very interpersonal, with his background being relevant, as well as other things (i'm not sure if this is a spoiler or not so i'll keep mum)

You shouldn't go in with that expectation brah.

If it's anything like the first two it will be great, but yeah. Go in expecting a Sci-Fi story based RPG with great characters and locations and hoping the story is good and quests are fun.

If that happens you'll like it IMO.

not gonna lie, 0 hype from me, I will wait for reviews to sway me..never thought I'd say that about a Mass Effect game but coming months are too stacked for me to be buying new games every week
