Who has had the biggest influence on Barcelonas recent success?
Who has had the biggest influence on Barcelona's recent success?
Guardiola - The revolutionary coach that took over from Rijkaard. His influence is usually understated.
laporta - he took a shot on an in experienced coach.
Cruyff - don't really need to say much here.
Messi - arguably the best player since Maradona. He is the difference between Barcwlona being a good side and the best.
Xavi - has redefined the mf role. Statistically the most successful passer in football history.
Tom Henning Øvrebø of the sextuple - the man that kicked off the sextuple for Barca. I have never seen a person dictate the tempo as well as this man. He took control of the game against Chelsea and his decision making was spot on. Probably Barcelona player of the year in 2009. His tempo control would make Xavi blush with envy.
Carlos Puyol - when this man doesn't play Barcelona look beatable. He is their captain fantastic.
Massimo Busacca - made a key decision by sending off RVP and dooming Arsenal who gave Barcelona the best fight in the first leg. people can bring up Arsenal having no shots and being in their own half for the whole game but the fact remins, that before RVP was sent off, the score was 1-1.
Wolfgang Stark - sending of Pepe in the first leg completely changed the tie and secured Barcelona a passage to another champions league final.

The players. Not any one player more than another, just the players, all of them.
They understand the importance of team.
Pep is the mastermind behind it all, he is the one who puts the plan for the players to follow but in the end, only the players can go out and do it.

Its between Guardiola and Messi. They have very big infulence to the success of barca obv. Puyol and Laporta are just small fishes.

After Xavi, 1 title in 6 years.
After Messi+Xavi, 5 titles in 4 years.
After Guardiola+Messi+Xavi, 13 titles in 3.5 years.

Re: Who has had the biggest influence on Barcelona's recent success?
Everyone in the above list, for me, made a contribution to Barca's success whether willingly or unwillingly.
Can't give credit to a single individual alone to a Teamwork team like Barca.
But if I had to pick one I'd say Xavi has been the most influential out of all, though.

It's actually funny how deluded people are of that match. The first penalty should went for Barca from Ballack handball at 4 minutes:harhar11 wrote:Øvrebø the biggest myth in world football history
Goal from that and it would have completely changed the game, not to mention red for Abidal for passing a player.

Re: Who has had the biggest influence on Barcelona's recent success?
Ovrebo can not compete with messi. He saved barca once, but messi saved them probably in all big matches. and i think a person who saved only 1 time should not be in the list

Re: Who has had the biggest influence on Barcelona's recent success?
Nope, the ref decided at the first claim not to give penalty from handball against Ballack, couldn't give one after it. Penalty from it, and Abidal at field Chelsea would have never made three goals.Lord Hispano wrote:Tsk tsk. Jiopsi as deluded and selective as ever. Face it bro, you guys were benifited.
