What does age have to do with this?

Varane looks very solid and focused in all his games so far. We should take a risk. Imo if we played him at CB against barca we might have avoided taking three goals which all came as deep plays.

If you havent noticed, we experimented more than recommended in our game against barca. I would have rather experimented with playing varane at CB than playing coentrao at RB.

This is how we should play against Barca

GK: Iker

Defense:
LB: Coentrao
CB: Ramos, Varane
RB: Arbelao

Midfield:
At the right: Lassana
at the center: Kaka, Alonso with Kaka dropping forward on the attaks and counters
At Left: Di Maria
Offense:
Benzema
Ronaldo; in his current physical form Ronaldo should just play as a paocher against teams like Barca; use his height and jumping strength to score goals and maul the Barca defeners.

I think with 6 points ahead, we should have played with this formation.

I think the starting 11 is still great, I'm just still disappointed Real Madrid still can't seem to get the better of Barcelona in the league.

i think its to do with misssed oppurtunities, lets not pretend barca get millionth of chances because they dont, the are just way more efficient than us which is the only difference

Why do you say that Pepe wouldnt be at the club if it werent for Mou? You really think Flo would have cleared him out because he wasnt his signing?

I really hate that aspect of Flos personality, though it is a kind of chronic problem with our club. No real continuity. We have like only 6 players from before 2009, or something like that.

Anyway, its great that Pepe stayed. Portugese bias isnt what kept him in, he was our best defender before Ramos moved to CB.

not sure what you facepalmed for, his injury record was part of it, but the main reason was the fact that Madrid wanted to separate themselves from the nut sack. His aggression on that Getafe guy was just ridiculous, and it wasnt the only incident. The injury argument was brought up to deny a subsequent increase in money he was asking for.

it was never to do with his agressive nature ffs

both him and ramos have had some questionable action but that was never in the discussion when his renewal of contract was talked about

he was injured for a whole half season for the previous 2-3 seasons which is why they thought why renew his contract when he hardly plays

and you can see now how he kept to his promise

Yes it was, it was very upsetting for the people in charge in Madrid. I repeat again, that incident when he literally assaulted a getafe, shamed the senorios in charge. Perez and his advisors wanted to separate themselves from Pepe, specially when he wasn't calming down and wasnt exactly showing WC level. His injuries were part of the reasoning they brought up for not wanting to double his salary as well.

Now, i answered the question Saeta asked with the knowledge i have. I wont stay here and argue with you.

We need multi-tasked defenders; players who can dribble and pass the ball and not only maul the opposition players.

Pepe is WC for teams like Mancity and Juve, but not Madrid.

Give Varane the chance to excel. It's not his fault he's more gifted than Pepe at 18. 18 is just a number.
