Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
yep i see but sorry palermo played Christmas tree formation?
i can see some points but in truth Vidal was not an AMC and never saw an AMC to play more defensive than attacking so i dont know.the reason that he was so close was to stop the counter attack but i cant consider Vidal a number 10 player or trequartista.anyway i will not bother more with the formation but in the pitch what i saw from both Juve and Palermo was not the formation this site says.

And yet, We got Vidal for 10m when he was bound to leave?
....
Liverpool arent idiots. They know that it is smarter to try to get Juve to spend 16 million and if we decide not to there are plenty of buyers that will buy him for cheaper. Why wouldnt they try to sell him to us at a high price.....
Vidal was bound to leave because a lot of teams were interested..... 10 mill is a more than fair price.
Exactly yet people do not understand this lol

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
Poli was not coming for 5mil!!! I don't think you understand how negotiations work. And that Samp hated us. Poli or any Samp player was not being sold to us. Plain and simple. As for Aquilani overpriced and overrated. This was admit on SKY as I posted the link. The player himself claimed that Liverpool would not lower the price. The result was Marotta not giving in and Liverpool forced to sell to another buyer for cheaper. Negotiations don't work the way you think. It's a matter of each team sticking up for themselves. If say Marotta valued Aquilani at 6 mil and Liverpool wasn't going lower then 10 then he made a good decision.Camurrìa.Sto.Stronzo wrote:The_ItalianFool wrote:Completely disagree with just about everything you just said here.
It's not Marotta's problem. He can't tell Liverpool what to do... The point is, unlike Secco, Marotta wasnt a pushover and didnt overpay. He did the right thing and we ended up getting ANDREA PIRLO.
He did not fail with Poli because not every transfer goes under the nose of Marotta... You act like he has control of every club and every transfer. Its not as simple as you think.
10 million for Vidal is a good price, therefore it shouldnt be criticized... I think it was a steal, he is quality.
It's not about him telling them what to do, it's called negotiations, it's his job to do it. Either he gets it right, or either he gets it wrong. Sadly he did it wrong. Once again, you fail to realize, THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH PIRLO. Yes he did good in getting Pirlo, HE DID BAD WITH NOT GETTING A VICE FOR HIM. Aquilani could of been one of them.
Last January we had the chance to bring in Poli, and he decided that it was not the right time, which was wrong.
This summer, he had the chance to bring in Poli, but thought 5m was too expensive for the player... Wrong.
It dosen't matter if it was a fair price, people make it seem that he got him for cheap which is not the case at all.

Yup 10mil for an unproven player who will be on the bench as long as Pirlo is healthy. And with a price tag almost as much as Vidal....GREAT DEALJuvenelCuore wrote:Andrea Poli for that price would have been a steal.

One of them had a contract expiring at the end of the season, the other does not. Andrea Poli is touted as being the "next Pirlo" and has been followed for years now...would not expect you to know that much.

Let me correct you
a 22 year old promising player to sit on the bench and learn from Pirlo
and if you think Pirlo is going to play 38 games this season then you are a bold thinker
Not to mention Juventus paid 10M for Elia to sit on the bench and I would have rather seen that money at Poli as it stands (I do like Elia though I am just talking about the situation)

Poli wouldnt be getting playing time either if Pirlo Vidal and Marchisio are already fighting for 2-3 spots...

Luca said this already. Andrea Poli can learn from Andrea Pirlo. Next year if Juventus are in Europe, do you think Pirlo is going to play two matches a week ? Maybe if he were eight years younger.

You do know there are 2 more transfer markets until we have to think about that, right?
You do now that we have to get the 3rd place before that, right?
Get your head out of the clouds, we gotta work for this season first.

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
Juventus has 5 CMs in the squad, 3 of them start every game
Juventus has 5 wingers in the squad, 1 of them starts every game (Vucinic is a striker who can play as a winger)
This is because of Conte's tactical shift from a wing play dependent system requiring 5-6 wingers to a Pirlo dependent system requiring a regista and proper cover
So currently, Poli on the bench has a whole lot more use than Elia does, just by comparing the price of each

So rather than prepare him now and have him ready for next season, you propose that Juventus throw Andrea Poli into the deep end next year ? Fantastic.
Sorry for being optimistic...though I did say "IF." Maybe you should try reading.
So thinking about the future is bad ? Yeah, tell that to every other team in the world.

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
Finding a vice Pirlo isn't just for the prospect of Europe
This man will not play 38 games
He certainly won't at this level
I don't want to see Juventus implode like last year because they are dependent on a few names, although it is liking identical (despite fantastic depth this year, it is in the wrong positions for Conte's current Juventus, the good news he is much more tactically flexible so he will adapt if he loses someone like Pirlo, knock on wood)

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
As long As Krasic and Elia(our top wingers imo) can get back to form then there won't be as much dependance on Pirlo. Either way a vice for Pirlo should be brought in but not at the price of 10mil unless they are more proven. This is why Poli wasn't brought to begin with. Not only does Samp hate us but that price tag is too high for someone like him when a player like Vidal who is much better and more well rounded was available for just about the same price. Instead of paying 10 for him as a bench player we could just integrate youth players for free. I'm not saying a vice for Pirlo is not needed because it most certainly is. But paying that much for a player who has yet to consistently prove them self is a bit much. Bonuccis transfer is a nice example of this.

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
Going to be hard to get to top form when you are glued to the bench, honestly.
You'd think that this Juventus should be winger dependent based on the squad break down by position but it really is not

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
A simple solution for a vice Pirlo... Sign Marco Verratti.
Why?
1) Is a Regista/Trequartista
2) Currently plays as Pescara Deep Lying Playmaker
3) Is compared to the likes of Totti and Pirlo
4) He loves Juventus and his idol is Del Piero
5) He's not expensive if were looking to spend cheap.

Re: Aquilani reveals transfer truths
You guys are acting like Marotta knew Conte would switch his tactics....
And nothing is final yet in regards to the tactics.
And no, I don't think we should throw him in the deep end. I dont think we need him now, that's all.
