I have not really thought about it in great length, but my 2 cat's could be the U-21 coach and his assistant and would do a much better job than Pearce.

I'm pretty sure if the FA were arsed they could easily find someone who actually encourages attacking football.

Maybe there wasn't much options available to start with.

Basically what Gil said, theres plenty of coaches in youth set ups accross the country who would be a much better option than Pearce.
It's just a matter of having the balls to give them the chance, they like Pearce because hes a yes man.
Even Beardsley who has done a fantastic job for Newcastle's youth teams would be a far better option than Pearce and he would probably be low on the list of youth coaches available.
I of course would not want him to leave but it's just an example that if FA were to get up of their ass and look for someone who has potential and has a clue that they could find a replacement easily.

Fair point actually. Just curious as to who the disdain Pearce generally receives as you lot aren't the only ones not too pleased about this...

The man does'nt have a clue tactically, he picks body builders over the techncially gifted players, puts players out of position.
As i have said before i does'nt matter how technically gifted the players are or maybe in the future but until we get a coach that plays to our players strengths and not their weaknesses we will never succeed at anything.
I am serious when i say this and i truly believe it we could have had Xavi and Iniesta at the U-21's and we wll would have still played like Stoke such is the ineptness of Stuart Pearce.

Doesn't that describe the average English manager?
4-4-2 and kick and rush tactics?

We have evolved, its now 4-3-3 kick and rush tactics
Seriously though, there's alot of coaches around in the youth systems that are alot more tactically adapt than that.
Even 'Arry has switched to 4-2-3-1.

Re: Pearce signs new contract
Well, 4-2-3-1's the norm now. You can apply it to many styles, attacking, counter, Spurs, etc. Almost as versatile as 4-4-2.
4-4-2's not bad or anything, I mean Ferguson pimps the shit out of it. But yeah, there's the small "tactically adept" problem.
Hey, at least they're calling up Wilshere.
