Wow, a lot of butthurt Brazil fans jumping ATM. What, you mad because I said I thought what Neymar did was stupid? More of that Real Madrid ruins players shit. Ozil, Higuain, Marcelo, Iker, Ramos, Di Maria, maybe even Benzema... and these are just examples from our current squad. Go back to acting like the small club you are. Like I said, we dont need Neymar, but he needs Europe.

Thats mature man. When confronted with sensible arguments, you shout and just throw insults then ignore? Ill answer anyway. If you think that Eurocentric football or whatever you want to call it is over, Im afraid youre delusional. We all know that to be considered among the best, you have to be competing with the best! And generally, they are in the European leagues, the big ones of course. Im not real mad, just a bit annoyed but TBH Im more surprised by the attitude of some Brazilian fans on here.

I don't think people know he's 19. He should go when he's around 22, there is plenty of time. At 22 he would have matured and good enough to walk into a top European squad and even if he spends the rest of his career there...he'll be playing for at least 12-13 years for them

Re: Neymar signs a new contract with Santos
What's with the attitude of 'he needs Europe'. Why, exactly? What does Europe provide that Brazil does not? Brazil might not be what it was in the 60s and 70s, but it still has a top league, staying there is better for his national team career, and in terms of development he would only suffer there as he would get less playing time due to the need to adapt and the heightened risk of injury. The difference is not as big as some of you make it out to be.

So is it confirmed? The new contract is void? was that a publicity stunt?

i think of it this way:
*argentina's best player had to leave argentina at 11 to actually be able to develop and play, now he's more Catalan than he is argentine*
*brazil's best player is fully developed in Brazil, and is only 19, lots of things ahead him*

Re: Neymar signs a new contract with Santos
btw.
and if you thought he can get bought for peanuts just because his new contract is invalid
2deep4YouYuropoors.
Nothing special, the new contract was not registered 30 days after it was signed, so would be invalid now.
But Santos can just produce the contract again and register it and things will be fine.
So is pretty much a non-story.

No, he is just under the previous contract.
So anyone wanting him would still need to pay his buyout fee (45 million Euros) to sign him.

btw, I 've just seen a live interview with Santos' president in which he says this stuff about the new contract being invalid is BS.
