Torres is not deserving of NT football anymore

look on current form
striker who doesnt score goals are not better than strikers who score goals
i.e. Soldado should be in the national team over Torres
i.e. Negredo should be there instead of Torres
but lets see come Euro2012
if he is scoring goals, he should go, simple as that

Raul deserves a call up more than this guy. Seriously charity call up is the perfect term ATM, especially when other strikers in Spain could (and would) do a better job.

It should be pretty clear to everyone with just a little football knowledge that the reason Torres still gets call ups is because of his talent and ability and not charity as you put it. He is by far the best spanish striker out there, when in form and that's why he keeps getting these call ups. Another advantage by playing him now even when he's not in form is that he'll still stay familiar with the system and players when he actually returns to form.

Llorente deserves to start ahead of him. That's a fact.

If Don Vicente ever got a tattoo it would say "don't rock the boat". It's his bread and butter.

Torres is getting charity call ups. a line of strikers in Spain have been out preforming him for almost a year now. This is not opinion, this is not the rant of a fan boy or a hater, this is just the current situation. Guys like Llorente, Soldado, Negrado and Adrian have been doing more than Torres has been.

Hell even Villa should be careful, his place shouldn't safe either if recent form suggests anything but then again Villa is a beast for Spain so that doesn't matter too much. Torres has no such luxury, he has been mediocre for club and most importantly for country as well. The point is the Spanish squad is so competitive at the moment that theoretically no one's place is safe.

Torres should kiss the toilet Don Vicente takes a crap in because he's the only reason he hasn't been dropped yet. Credit to the Don but there will come a point where he'll have to drop him if El Nino keeps under preforming. So don't mistake the call ups as a sign of him preforming because he hasn't been earning them through his own merit.

Torres was WC before, he might become WC again and that's the reason he keeps getting these call ups. Without regular playing time, he surely won't be able to find his form.

Now you're dealing with possibilities. Might, might not, all subjective.

Sure Llorente might not cut it, then again he could be WC if given the chance. Torres could be back and better than ever or he could just keep going on his downward spiral towards mediocrity.

The only truth is that he is being out preformed right now and has been for a year. At least.

All of Torres's reputation is based off of one season, 2008. 2008 is a long time ago in football years.

Why all the hostility in this thread, I mean it's quite obvious that Torres doesn't deserve to play for Spain right now.

His form has been suspect for a while now and even when he was "back" he still wasn't that great. I don't even think he should start for Chelsea anymore let alone Spain.

Villa is WC for spain but because he's often being used on the wing i didn't count him as just a "striker" and therefore they also need one more WC striker.

Villa plays as the lone striker for Spain all the time.
