Should the football federations of major football nations walk away from FIFA ?
is it time for european teams , Argentina ,and whoever else voted against Blatter to leave FIFA ? just the European bloc by itself should have a strong leverage over the rest of the world .
why are tiny nations with populations fewer than 100,000 and no history of football getting the same world cup revenue cut as densely populated football countries ? why is their vote count as much as countries that actually matter in football ? why are we content with corrupt third world nations dictating how football is run ?
the rest of the world should just grow a pair and leave FIFA.
let Blatter have his Qatar world cup with Trinidad and Tobago , the cayman islands & co .

^ Yea, as if UEFA are angels themselves with their ridiculous corporate allocation in CL/EL finals, and just absolutely pussied out of FFP in first sign of legal action
UEFA can have their Euro Cup
FIFA will always have the big one. THE WORLD CUP

No, at least not while the U.S. investigation is on going. Would be stupid to break away from FIFA if the investigation is going to bring about a change for the better. Need to see where that road goes first.

if South america , the " weakest " region according to FIFA, gets tired of being pushed around by Blatter and forms a coalition with UEFA , that's pretty much your world cup right there .
what will the fans watch ? the Euro-south american cup or the FIFA world cup minus the only two region that actually won the damn thing ?
what will the TV networks buy ?
what will the sponsors throw money at ? a second tier competition taking place in a corrupt country and sanctioned by a corrupt organization ? or a squeaky clean tournament with the best teams in the world ?

No federaiton is going to walk away from those 1.7B in reserves
And going from Blatter's leadership to Platini might actually be a downgrade
I suppport a "wait and see how many more fish the FBI can trap in its net" approach. This is only beginning.

Platini is a three time balon d'or winner, a real footballer. I don't get what people have against him. He balances the interests of some pretty powerful FAs.

Pele is 3 time World Cup winner.breva wrote:Platini is a three time balon d'or winner, a real footballer. I don't get what people have against him. He balances the interests of some pretty powerful FAs.
Top 10 Pele predictions
10) China 2002
Pele Prediction: China will qualify for the next round from their 2002 World Cup group.
Outcome: China finish bottom of Group C with no wins, no draws, no points, no goals, as well as -9 in their goal-difference column.
9) Spain 1998
Pele Prediction: Spain are favourites for the 1998 World Cup in France.
Outcome: Spain humiliatingly dumped out in the first round after losing to Nigeria, and drawing with Paraguay.
8 Colombia To Live American Dream
Pele Prediction: Colombia will win the 1994 World Cup in the USA.
Outcome: Colombia exit the competition in the first round, finishing bottom of their group. Their defender Andres Escobar is also tragically shot dead by an angry fan after Colombia return home.
7) Argentina, France & World Cup 2002
Pele Prediction: Argentina & France will both reach the final.
Outcome: Both countries eliminated in the first round, France without even scoring a goal.
6) Escape To Victory
Pele Prediction: During the famous film starring Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine, Allies star Pele is brutally fouled in the first half by the Nazi opponents. The injured Brazilian claims there is no way he can continue and is carried off. The Allies are 4-0 down, and a recovery is deemed impossible.
Outcome: Pele returns in the second half and inspires his team to an improbable comeback, even scoring a stunning bicycle kick. Even in fiction, Pele's predictions go wrong.
5) Ronaldo Is Finished
Pele Prediction: Ronaldo will never play football again, and his career is over, following a serious injury for Milan in February 2008.
Outcome: Ronaldo returns in March 2009 for Corinthians, scoring 10 goals in his first 14 games to win the Campeonato Paulista. Rumoured to be on the verge of a national team recall.
4) Nii Lamptey – ‘The New Pele’
Pele Prediction: After starring in the 1991 Under-17 World Cup, which also featured Alessandro Del Piero, Pele proclaims Ghana youngster Lamptey as his successor, ‘The New Pele’.
Outcome: What happens next goes down in football infamy. Lamptey spectacularly fails to fulfil his talent, believing himself that he was cursed by dark forces. The midfielder shifts around clubs such as PSV, Aston Villa, Coventry, Venezia and Ankaragucu without success.
3) Nicky Barmby - Up There With Zidane, Maldini & Ronaldo
Pele Prediction: Nicky Barmby will become a world class star.
Outcome: Nicky Barmby becomes nothing more than an average player, winning 23 England caps, and never even appearing in a World Cup.
2) Africa Will Rule
Pele Prediction: An African nation will win the World Cup before the year 2000.
Outcome: It is now 2009, and an African country has still yet to get past the quarter-final.
1) Brazil & World Cup 2002
Pele Prediction: Brazil won’t even get past the group stages.
Outcome: Brazil win the World Cup.

a newly formed institution like that would probably be more prone to corruption. It would also lack legitimacy. Prestige is what makes the World Cup special.
Wait till we see what we find. Confident the USA will take these guys down.

If you ask me, the US should gtfo of football.
When in doubt, I prefer Latin-American football corruption to the kind of corruption the US goverment does NOT prosecute.

Not to mention he was a fantastic president in his first term. He got Alzheimer's during his second term and that took away his effectiveness obviously.
People should see the awful state the US was when Carter was president. Not only was the economy in shambles... we were a laughing stock in foreign relations. It was awful.

Re: Should the football federations of major football nations walk away from FIFA ?
Platini didn't decide the UEFA vote for crying out loud lol... the executive committee of UEFA votes on the choice and Platini just writes down their choice. He only has 1 vote on that committee. UEFA is the LEAST corrupt regional football body because the power lies with the individual FAs in reality, not the UEFA president.Wor Ayoze wrote:Platini voted for Qatar, Blatter didn'tbreva wrote:Platini is a three time balon d'or winner, a real footballer. I personally have no problem with Qatar or Russia getting the WCs if they had gotten it legitimately. There's plenty of reasons that both those countries deserved the bid at the time. The issue is if those countries bought the elections.
And btw, you notice that all the arrest warrants have gone against representatives of 3rd world countries or countries that have a reputation for extreme corruption... that's not a coincidence.

A leading official in European football has slammed a "rotten system" and has hinted that a breakaway competition for major nations could be formed

UEFA FAs voted for Qatar. Platini just voted as the FAs wanted him to. I wish you people would do some research before posting nonsense.
