The team is full of confidence and Vermaelen is back anything can happen. We can at least get a point which would be a great result.

Not a bad place to end the away record. banana

A. Dennis Bergkamp — what a player — and, right now, David Silva!

Q. Yosef Dessie: Now Emmanuel Eboue is gone, who keeps you entertained in the dressing room?

Q. Ruby Rose: Would you rather win the World Cup or the Champions League with Arsenal?

A. Would have to be the World Cup.

Q. Graeme Hudson: Who is the best player you have played against?

A. Lionel Messi.

Q. Holly Weeks: What's your worst moment in football?

A. Carling Cup final last season.

Q. Clare Earl: What's your dream?

A. To win the Premier League with Arsenal and World Cup with England.

Q. Fiti Nozieda: Do you see yourself as Arsenal captain one day?

A. That would be a dream come true.

Arsène Wenger has never been concerned about Ju Young Park's adaptation to English football - because even the best players need time to settle.

The South Korea captain started his second game for Arsenal on Tuesday night and registered his first goal with a flourish, converting Andrey Arshavin's pass to secure a 2-1 Carling Cup win over Bolton.

Park has not featured as much as some of Wenger's summer signings thus far but his new manager has complete faith in him.

"Park arrived on August 31 and now we are at the end of October - that's two months," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"Thierry Henry started to play in November and arrived earlier, so it takes some time to settle. Park is a quality player, we see that in training, and he is a very intelligent player. That can come out in the game. Overall I believe you will see more and more of Park.

"He personally needed that goal of course but I believe when new players arrive at a club you need that to convince people you deserve to be where you are.

"Many people think that unless you are coming with a massive transfer fee [you cannot succeed easily]. If he had come with a big transfer fee everybody would have been full of what he achieved. He is showing that he is at the level to play for Arsenal Football Club and certainly the goal will help him to gain confidence."

Carl Jenkinson...
I will know more [about Jenkinson's fitness] after training on Friday. Jenkinson was alright yesterday, but I don't know if I will take him or not. It depends how well he does in training today.

I just hope Jenkinson plays.

Dunno why people are so confident of us winning against Chelsea......In the BR poll, about 79% people voted for Arsenal to win....Do we really have that much chance of winning?

Yeah I have to agree on the positive vibes.. Its largely due to the 120 minutes chelsea played on wednesday, though they have home advantage..

Naahh.. I like BR.. they are more neutral than the Arsenal-bashing goal.com :coffee: But even goal.com posted a 5-Reasons-Why-Arsenal-Should-Win piece this time around.. scratch

Arsene Wenger is trying to seal a £7million swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero.

The Arsenal boss has been tracking the Spain Under-21 star for the past year, and has already held talks.

He would like to sign Granero, 24, in January but Real may want to wait until the end of the season.

Skilful Granero is a product of the Bernabeu’s youth system, but has fallen out of favour in the past two seasons.

Well at least he admit it, so fairplay to him.

Look at Nasri, claiming trophies was the reason for his transfer, when he easily could have went to Manchester United, who were clearly the 2nd best team in Europe a couple months ago.

CSKA Moscow goalkeeper Sergei Revyakin has welcomed interest from Arsenal.

The Gunners are lining up a move for the teenage shot-stopper.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was impressed with the teenager at the recent Under-17 European Championship, where he represented Russia, but the youngster is keen to leave his home in search of top-level football.

"I have two dreams: to win the title with CSKA and once that is done I want to leave for a club in one of the big foreign leagues," Revyakin said.

Arsène Wenger has called on UEFA to introduce its Financial Fair Play rules in their original spirit.

The Arsenal manager professes to be a “big fan” of proposals by European football’s governing body to regulate the spending of major clubs.

However the timescale and exact details are yet to be confirmed and, speaking at Friday’s press conference, Wenger admitted he now had concerns over FFP.

“I am less optimistic about it coming in than I was a year ago,” he said. “And when it comes in, it depends on with what kind of rules.

“I am not sure that UEFA has completely worked out all the rules that will make it work.

“UEFA has been challenged by the Sion case when they excluded them [from the Europa League for fielding ineligible players] and it looks like they are scared they could be challenged by the big clubs if they bring in [FFP] by force.

“So I am not sure they will be capable of imposing it.

“I am hoping they are because I am a big fan of it but I am less convinced than a year ago.”
