Re: Arsenal Lobby
Yesterdays loss didn't hurt as much. The boys made me proud. Well every one apart from "whose name that shall not be mentioned, until he gets sold". I was specially impressed with Frimpong and Koscielny. I have high hopes for the upcoming generation of Arsenal starlets. They have this grit about them, and seem to give a damn for the badge- something that we lacked with our previous generation.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Yesterday match hurt me simply because we controlled the game and failed to score. That was pathetic.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Ya , but if yesterday's game was an indication of how we will fare in the near future, Ill am willing to stick my neck out and say that we will be more than just fine. No? Having played a City squad that consisted of De jong, Toure, Nasri, Aguero, Dzeko I think we did quite well (with our 2nd squad mind you ).

Re: Arsenal Lobby
You know, that could be said in the league where everything is rest each game but definitely not the case in the tournaments.
One mistake is costly.

Arsenal legend Adams snubbed for manager's job in Sweden
Arsenal legend Tony Adams' plans for a managerial comeback have been dashed after he was snubbed by unfashionable Swedish side Elfsborg.
The former defender, who won 66 caps for England and lifted four titles, has struggled to make his mark in management. He was relegated with Wycombe Wanderers and took just 10 points from 16 games after replacing Harry Redknapp at Portsmouth.
He has had success recently in Azerbaijan with FC Gabala but wanted a move closer to the UK for family reasons.
Elfsborg went for former Sweden U-21 coach Jorgen Lennartsson instead and director Stefan Andreassos said: "Many spectacular foreign names have shown interest, but for us it was very easy. We wanted a Swedish coach and focused on Jorgen."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Why does everyone say Henry struggled in his first year when he netted 17 epl goals + 26 in all comps in 99/00?
Re: Arsenal Lobby
because he had bit of a slow start no? I was too young to remember

Re: Arsenal Lobby
but then 12 mil back then as considered a lot, especially for an "unproven" player. You also have to take into consideration who he was replacing (Anelka I think)

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is convinced that he made the right decision in rejecting interest from the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United by joining Arsenal in the summer. The 18-year-old starlet had caught the eye of many Premier League clubs as he helped propel Southampton to promotion from League One in 2010-11, but opted for the Gunners and is delighted by the progress he feels he has made since arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
“Is it best for me to be here? I think so,” the young winger told reporters.
“Since I've been here, the young boys get a lot of chances in the cups and it is a great place to be. You are always learning.
“When I came here, I didn't think I was going to jump into the squad straight away. Coming from Southampton, I played week in, week out.
“Signing here, I knew I wasn't going to be involved as much and I'd have been naive to think I would.
“But just being able to train with these players every day, listening to the manager and just being around Arsenal, I have learned so much.
“I wouldn't have changed anything for the world. The next step is to push on into the squad.
“At the same time, though, there is no rush. I trust the boss to progress me in the best way, he is a top man, very intelligent.”
Despite all he feels he has learnt while under the tutelage of manager Arsene Wenger, Oxlade-Chamberlain is shrugging off talk of potentially being included in the England squad for next summer’s Euro 2012, preferring to focus on the Under-21s, for whom he has made seven appearances and scored three goals.
“I don't look too much into that. I am not in the senior squad, I am in the Under-21s and the way I see it is that we go away in February with the Under-21s and that is my focus,” the youngster continued.
“I have a lot of impressing to do at Arsenal before I think about going away with England.
“But if people are saying that, it is quite flattering to know you are being considered. My focus, though, is here at Arsenal.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Quotes from Theo Walcott's auto-biography (via @ArsenalStatMan)
Theo Walcott originally wanted the number 8 jersey, but it was reserved for Samir Na$ri.
Theo claims Ashley Cole stated that he nearly crashed his car when he found out Arsenal were only offering him 55,000 pounds per week.
According to Theo, Hleb would have been killed by Henry if he made a mistake, however once Henry left, Hleb has his best season ever.
In the AFC dressing room, you must wear sandals. Bendtner never followed this rule - one of the reasons why Adebayor didn't get on with him.
In Theo's first training session, Sol Campbell clattered him, as a way of welcoming him to the club. Theo was in extreme pain.

If i were Wenger, i'd have offered Cole even less to ensure his car went into a lamp post
