Re: Arsenal Lobby
Zlatan Ibrahimovic on Freddie Ljungberg in his new autobiography:
”The primadonna did his rubbish: ”In Arsenal you see, we do it this way. That's the way to do it.” It made me sick.”

Re: Arsenal Lobby
I think we can establish that Ibrahimovic didn't like it when people told him about methods different to his own.
You'd have thought listening to someone like Ljungberg when he gives advice would be a sensible thing to do, but I suppose Ibrahimovic's career has gone pretty darn well.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is ready to open new contract talks.
After securing defender Thomas Vermaelen on a new deal until 2015, boss Arsene Wenger is now targeting 22-year-old England ace Walcott, says The Sun.
The Gunners are set to begin negotiations with the £60,000-a-week star within the next two weeks.
Wenger has a number of other stars out of contract in 2013 including Robin van Persie, Johan Djourou and Andrey Arshavin.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal legend Ian Wright admits Robin van Persie is carrying the team at the moment.
Wright is quick to admit the in-form Dutchman has been the driving force behind a resurgence which has seen them climb to seventh in the table.
He told The Sun: "With Van Persie playing, you really do feel differently going into games right now as an Arsenal fan.
"He gives you that kind of confidence and I think the boys played pretty well in general against Chelsea.
"People talk about how badly both sides defended, but I'm not really bothered about that. I'm more pleased with the fact Arsenal were able to come from behind.
"It is a worry about how many goals they are conceding, but it was great to see them kick on again and again. It proves the fantastic character within the squad."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also,I heard Seaman said the RvP is carrying the entire Arsenal attack on his own...Who need Ballon D'Or when you can get such good comments from Arsenal Legends?
Frak Ballon D'Or!we know RvP is good....

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal legend Ian Wright says it's too soon to say Arsene Wenger's team have turned the corner.
Wrighty claims the impressive run of results, which included Carling Cup and Champions League victories, proves his old club are cautiously moving in the right direction.
Speaking before Tuesday's goalless draw with Marseille, the Arsenal legend told The Sun: "When we went to play against Manchester United, I was genuinely worried.
"It simply wasn't a good enough team to play against a United in that kind of form.
"But with the line-up against Chelsea, this time I just felt confident."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen insists they're not a one-man team.
Vermaelen is adamant they can score without skipper Robin van Persie.
"It is a fact that Robin is a world-class player and an amazing striker," said Vermaelen, "but he can't play every game, we have a big squad and we have enough strikers to fit in in his place. I think there are goals in the team, away from Robin. We have enough players who can decide a game like Gervinho, who is very quick. We created enough chances without Robin against Marseille and Andrey can decide a goal, also.
"So we are confident that we can create and make goals without Robin."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal fullback Carl Jenkinson was happy with the cleansheet against Marseille this week.
Jenkinson was full of praise for centre-half pair Thomas Vermaelen and Per Mertesacker.
"They were very solid," said Jenkinson on Arsenal Player.
"At the end of the day we kept a clean sheet and they look like they've already got a good understanding with each other. Obviously they are two world-class players, so it's not going to take long to click. They both look very good together."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott says they're capable of winning ugly when needed.
The Gunners kept themselves at the top of Group F with a goalless draw against Marseille at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.
"In the Group Stages you just want to get through, it doesn't matter how you play," Walcott told arsenal.com. "I think it's the same in any competition, it doesn't matter how you win the game so long as you get a positive result.
"Nobody remembers the dirty 1-0s and 0-0s, it's all about the finalists and it doesn't matter how you get there. That's all we can think about.
"Obviously we want to finish on top and we still have a lot to do. But now we will be focusing on the weekend and not the Champions League - that is what we do at this club, we focus on the next game.
"They come around thick and fast and we need to be physically fit and mentally strong as well. Bring on the games, we enjoy playing our football."

West Brom manager Roy Hodgson: " I would find it very hard to believe Arsenal were considering Arsene's future, for the last 15 years he has been fantastic. Wenger has proved himself to be one of the best managers in the world. His list of achievements just goes on and on. Are Arsenal back? Have they ever been away? Where did they go?"

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Wenger: "Andre Santos needs to improve on his defending but they have a different perception of full-backs in Brazil than in Europe. In the last 10 minutes at Chelsea he saved three or four goals. An important part of winning is having a full-back who creates. Take the Brazilian national team. They had Alberto Carlos and Roberto Carlos, Jorginho and Cafu."

Re: Arsenal Lobby
^^^when Andre Santos makes a tackle my heart is always pounding in my ass!
Because 9/10 when he makes a tackle - he goes to ground, and imo, when you go to ground to make a tackle it's totally 50-50. It can either be a great dispossessing tackle or a total missed tackle and then we're one man short at the back.
But anyway, he hasn't missed a lot of tackles this last few games, on the contrary, he has made some real good tackles.
He is great going forward, like a real menacing winger (quite Bale-esque, if you ask me ), but he'll have to improve defensively if he wants to become our regular LB.

If he would stop getting caught out of position so damn much we would have him as our no. 1 LB no problem. loving his play as of late.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
Arsene Wenger has stated that Robin van Persie is one of the "top five to 10 players" in the world following his goal and two assists in Arsenal's 3-0 victory over West Brom in the Premier League.

Re: Arsenal Lobby
So van Persie did get two assists. Someone kept telling me it was Gervinho who set-up Vermaelen.
Looking at the goal again, that has to be van Persie's assist.
