Re: The Elder Scrolls
I've been seriously thinking about getting back into Skyrim now that I'm getting bored of Destiny. I haven't touched the game in over a year, so a lot of it will feel new to me again.
Dawnguard and Dragonborn were phenomenal additions to the game, even Hearthfire was decent, I spent hours building my house in The Pale.
I might just start up a new character when I get back from work tomorrow.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
What puzzles me is that we only get X-Wing vs. Dragon aerial combat 3 years in...
You should definitely get Interesting NPC's. It adds to Skyrim what it was missing from Morrowind/Oblivian. Actually interesting NPCs. I ended up ditching Serana for Zora Fair-Child just because her quest line and character development grew on me.
Maids II: Deception is criminally misunderstood and under appreciated because of what it may seem to be but its narrative quality is definitely higher than eg. the overhyped Falskaar (which is basically just Skyrim on an island).
Dragon Break: Bad Wolf and Dragon Break: The Infinity Engine are hilarious although highly sexualized.
Maids and Dragon Break may not be as skyrimmy as some other popular mini-DLC and DLC sized mods (Interesting NPC's definitely adds more content than the DLC's lol) but are better than Falskaar, Wyrmtooth or the Fight Against The Thalmor series.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
i also miss Skyrim , haven't played since over a year now , maybe . Confession , never finished a pure mage in Skyrim
yes i said it
Although i did have that first ever character that i lvld almost everything to 100 , i did not get to trully play with conjuration magic , or even deep in destruction magic , basically the only type of magic i was really using was illusion..although i did lvl up alteration just to use the one which allowed you to move things , lel. A good chunk of Healing too , tho i never really needed it with my illusion-assasin which i lvld it up.
All in all , my next characters were basically about weapons . I still don't know how the game feels like being a conjurer , or full destruction magic . I played being a thief-assasin-illusionist , warrior sword-shield , double swords , two handed everything basically e.t.c
the urge to play Skyrim again

Re: The Elder Scrolls
much jelly and envy , wish i could play it for the first time again. Friends shittin me because i can't stop playing Skyrim , aww
Skyrim is simply amazing especially on the PC with all the mods. I can't wait to play a pure mage , it will almost be a new experience lel. Although , it does get tiresome to get back to riverwood after your 5th or 6th character , lel .. have finished the main storyline 3 times , gave up with the rest. dlcs only once .
I think 1.5 years is enough break . I am doing this mage tomorrow

I'm so scared of finishing all the main quests and being done with the game so I keep putting it off by getting some stuff done then making a new guy. Rinse, repeat

Re: The Elder Scrolls
With a TES game you should never be scared to finish the official quests because you're guaranteed enough free content of reasonable quality that will surpass the time you spent on the offical quests - the reason I haven't "beaten" Skyrim is because there's just so much other stuff to do that isn't a randomly generated radiant quest.

I've never even finished the thieves guild quest either lol
Although I've done the Dark Brotherhood a few times, even just found out you can opt to destroy them instead. Done that the other day.

It's been three years since the release date of Skyrim. There was a five year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim. Will we see Elder Scrolls VI in two years? A man can dream

I've been meaning to jump in, but I'm worried that once I do, I'll become a hermit again
Thankfully, it's winter, aka Skyrim time, so being locked in my house won't be much of an issue.
I'm going to create a Redguard mage/warrior hybrid, who becomes head of the Mages Guild and becomes a Vampire Lord, because werewolves and the Dawnguard suck.
Has anyone here actually bothered getting any of their characters married? And if so, who did you marry? I never got around to doing it.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Done it when I first got skyrim, married the woman who you meet quickly, in the little village's shop. White run I think.
Just stays at home, gives you money every day or Week and can cook shit or whatever.
I haven't done it since, only GOAT woman is the vampire follower you get during dawnguard who reanimates dead things and doesn't get downed every 10 seconds.
Was crying with laughter at some point when I was fighting two frost trolls and I heard a funny noise, then outta nowhere an undead mountain goat runs up and starts having a go at the trolls

I married that Ysolda chick in Whiterun whom you have to give a mammoth tusk to in my first playthrough. Can't remember who I married in my random playthroughs. I remember I almost had a gay marriage once Did not show up to the wedding for the banter. All the priests and the guy angry at me I killed the dude later. I remember if you kill your spouse with the Ebony Blade it goes from 0 to full.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
I only married once with Lydia , the one and only true love in Skyrim . Untill i lost her one day .
No literally i lost her , one moment we were in the plains near Markarth sprinting towards a quest , next one i must have left her breathless closing in on me . Soon after losing sight of her , i had to fight some dudes in the plains , last i checked she wasn't near so i went on with my quest. After a while , i teleported to Whiterun to sell things , without thinking about what may have happened to Lydia. That was the last i saw of her , she never returned home after i abandoned her in the middle of nowhere . I would check often in one of the houses in Skyrim i had instructed her to cook for me things i never ate , she never showed up for some reason .
I had to play Jesus through the console to bring her back , i missed my Lydia. Also didn't know that about the Ebony Blade . Better this way , i would have hated to lose Lydia again .

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Loooooooooooooooooooooool, she may have died as she wasn't immortal
Gotta be careful with followers, at first I thought they were all invincible and they just went into recovery kneel mode. Turns out the ones like Lydia if they take more damage in recovery mode they die.
My gripe with skyrim is how there's no option to kill important NPCs especially when they've outlived their use or they had none anyway
Delphine for example telling me she'll help me as I am the dragonborn hero the blades are sworn to protect
Then she refuses to talk to me because I refused to kill the GOAT paarthunax so I want to kill her so bad ffs. She pissed me off the entire storyline, would love to destroy her soul, then trap it in a soul gem and doom her for eternity and use her bitch soul to enchant the weapon I killed her with

Re: The Elder Scrolls
lmao dat hate for Delphine I get why , i did the same as you .
As for important NPCs yeah , maybe we should have more choices after all, obviously with consequences too. You can kill many other unimportant ones tho ; i used to kill many Skyrim plebs on my day , especially with my assassin character , the one who "lost Lydia in the plains" , untill i couldn't find any more petty soul gems to put their petty souls in . So i stopped bothering .
And yeah , she "must have" died , lol Tom .
