Re: Who said Serie A is dead?
"A report to be released by UEFA on the financial wellbeing of European football will reveal that Premier League clubs owe 56% of the continent's total footballing debt, raising further questions about why English football's finances have been allowed to spiral out of control."
Look up prem league debts and click on one of many articles detailing the immense debts.

La liga has won more Europa league's than series and EPL combined in last 10 years, with Pathetico beating inter in Super cup.still they talks about how laliga out side top 4 are weak with out having any single peace of proof to convince.
In terms of all the teams, means all the teams. Not the top part of the table. Once again it's a typical response.
For starters if we're talking about past cup victories here's the list of the teams who've won the Europa league the most.
Juventus. Wins 3, finalists 1.
Inter milan Wins 3, finalists 1
Liverpool Wins 3 finalists 0
Borrusia mon.. Wins 2 finalists 2
Tottenham wins 2 finalists 1
Point out the amazing europa league statistics of La liga one more time please.
I don't think you took that into account.
Anyway, how is this not in the right back section.

The last 10 years is talking about the past no? I was talking about current times but when people bring up the past to validate their argument then so will I.

Man Utd have biggest dept but they also generate biggest profit so by latest reports, they are going in right direction in the same time competing in all fronts and also making big signings.
Man City. Enough said. By the time UEFA introduces FFP. They made a WC squad.
Same with Chelsea who also copying Arsenal in almost every department.
I dont know about Liverpool.

Also, to make it clear i'm not trying to convince anybody Serie A is the best league in the world. The prem league is obviously the strongest current league. But some people seem to view Serie A as a declining, boring league. It's improving. Without over paying for players.

It's on the right track there's no denying that. But currently the prem makes up the majority of european football debt.

Serie A is not dead. It's just weak as of the moment. I still believe that the 3 spots is fair to raise the level of competition.

Re: Who said Serie A is dead?
You want proof it's weak?
2 teams completely dominate the league and even destroy the teams closest to them in the table.
If you think Barcelona and Real madrid would dominate the EPL and Serie A and the bundesliga the way they dominate la liga then I can't even begin to convince you otherwise.
A league with no competition is not a strong league. That much is obvious. If you would like I could post you scores in the last few years involving Barca, madrid, Valencia, Villareal etc.

Also, stop using europa league as an example. English and Italian teams bar the ones who don't normally get into Europe use the Europa league as experience for the young and bench players. They don't even want to be in it.
With your logic, Porto beat Villareal 5-1, this is similar to Barca's result against villareal. Therefore the portugese league must be nearly as strong as La Liga yeah?

No its not currently. It was 1 and half years old and has included Liverpool debts which has been wiped out now and United's which have nearly reduced to half of that mentioned.

Re: Who said Serie A is dead?
again taking Barca and real destruction as proof for weak teams is obviously pathetic.yeah a league got dominated by a team that won 3 out of last 5 years CL,what a surprise.Still you dont take CL or Europa league as a measurement but Barca beating clubs consistently?TomJuve wrote:You want proof it's weak?

what has Series A midtable teams has over la liga midtable team? Europa leagues ? nope.Pure hypothetical believe based on Barca and Real, and we all know that believe didnt worked out in C L last year.
IS this the way you prove something?
Re: Who said Serie A is dead?
This is basically a knee-jerk thread !I dunno why people are taking it that seriously..
Regarding the Europa League, its well noted from the fact that Italian teams dont tend to take it seriously..I mean we have atleast 8-9 teams who have sky-high ambitions of earning a champions league place and this leads to Serie A teams neglecting the EL..
Also the financial incentives given to teams in EL doesnt help one bit..The lucrative cl money plays a big factor..Serie A teams(those eyeing a cl place) much rather finish 4th in the league and qualify for cl thereby earning cl money irrespective of the results than making a mark in the europa league

Oh and now Sereis a teams dont care about europa league argument? Brilliant logic, what about i use the same logic for LA liga clubs?TomJuve wrote:Also, stop using europa league as an example. Porto was better than Villarreal last year.they were better than inter, napoli and may be on par with milan last year.Even some barca and real bench players will start for some of big series A clubs let alone starters,so them beating la liga teams is lame?
Every series A clubs got destroyed by la liga clubs last year including teams from europa league, still they talk about how la liga teams are weak with out any single trace of evidence.Stop pulling things out of your ass and leave it if you dont watch enough to make a judgement.
Re: Who said Serie A is dead?
why it is not applicable to la liga teams? care to elaborate.Surag.Blueguy wrote:This is basically a knee-jerk thread !I dunno why people are taking it that seriously..
