IMO any dive by Robben should not be considered a dive, abut an attempt at averting injury. The man is made of glass, and he looks like he can crumble by one bad tackle.

I hav'nt seen Robben dive in years myself.

Actually, Robben does not dive, he is just knocked down by the wind of incoming players.

I hate to say this because I love him as a player but Alves wins this one. I remember one game last year against a bad team and Barca were winning by like 4-5 goals late in the game and he dove and rolled around for like a minute and the camera panned over to Messi siting near Pep and they were both covering there faces laughing.

I wan't to vote for Di Maria because I don't like him as a player and he dives plus plays like a total pussy. In Copa America I remember one game it was so obvious his main goal was just to not get hurt he could care less what happened to Arg.

Its not just that he dives a lot but actually gets the fouls/pks in his favor often, deserves a gold medal

As for the best olympic diver its between busquets, alves and di maria. Ronaldo lost his touch ever since our new dive king arrived

I voted for Di Maria because I always when he does an unnecessary dive

As another Real Madrid fan, have to agree with you there, Dive Maria is amazing, why stop when its just so damn effective?

I must interject though, as weird as it sounds his "diving" is completely legal most of the time. for e.g. in most of the penalties he wins, he uses that low center of gravity purposefully to win penalties, and most of the time he is clearly fouled.

Then the fun part is discussing the morality or immorality of "playing for it." He will pick out a big, slow defender and exploit the guy's weakness of being static over the first couple of yards to CON the penalty- I say fair game to him, it is very intelligent play to spot that kind of a weakness.
