Yes for the time being you are completely correct. He gets bossed wayyyy too easily in the middle.

Cleverly and Anderson are very very different from Sneijder and Cambiasso.....Just like United are very very different from Inter

Cleverly and Anderson are both very athletically gifted...they run like crazy and they are both very good all around players...maybe not superb in any one area, but very good at all

Cambiasso is a great football player...but he isn't a great athlete (and you need to be to play in a two man midfield)
And Sneijder isn't defensively disciplined enough (and you need to be to play in a two man midfield)

Not to mention United have the best wingers in the world and two forwards in Rooney/Welbeck who are capable of seamlessly interchanging with both the wingers and eachother...

We don't have a Rooney, nor a Welbeck, nor a Young, nor a Nani, nor a Valencia

Suggesting we play 442 just because United does means completely ignoring the skill set of our players

did i say we should use a 4-4-2 because united does? no i did not, i said they run one and run it well. i also said were NOT united, i was merely using them as an example of how it can work. AND i was just asking what other people thought of us switching to a 4-4-2 because i read an article saying that gasp was considering it. i'm only pondering various formations because i loath the 3-4-3. my personal favorite is the 4-2-3-1 btw

I like or dislike specific implementations of a formation...

There is no such thing as Formation A > Formation B

All depends on how they are implemented

I hope we play either 3412 or 3511...I think they are the best fits for our players

4-3-1-2 fits perfectly well for me.
i'd rather use jonathan/maicon and nagatomo for fullbacks+wingers.
