Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
1 - Which team would you like our team to avoid in next round?
Milan or Madrid equally. If we continue on, we will have to face 1 or maybe both eventually, but next round there are easier options
2 - Would you prefer playing RM over two legs or in the Final?
2 legs, less luck involved. That being said, in 1 leg, I wouldnt be any less confident really.
3 - Which team would you like to play the most in next round?
Marseille . Offensively stagnant, defensively decent but nothing for us to fear really.Andre Ayew is their only real threat..at least APOEL park the bus well.
4 - Do you think Barca will land in the stronger half of the draw or in the weaker half of the draw?
No idea, all luck.
5 - Post your preference of the rival in the 1/4 with a numbers from 1 (the rival you most want), to 7 (the rival you least want)
1 - OM , 2 - APOEL, 3 - Benfica, 4a - Chelsea, 4b - Bayern, 6 - Milan, 7 - Madrid
I dont fear Chelsea more than Benfica. Chelsea are more name than anything else. They wasnt even that good today, set peice and a pen to save them. They still look bad at the back.

We should be ready for whoever...if we can't beat the best, then we probably don't deserve to win(bar any dumb luck, such as referees and stuff)

Terrible draw, very tough Milan team in quarters, then winner of Benfica - Chelsea, RM meeting possible only in the Final, I prefered to face them in two legs. Milan have a good chance to knock us out, I wanted to avoid them.

Worst draw possible. We will have to face two very tough teams to get to the final, and if we get there, we will have to face Madrid.

Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
LMAO.
This tie won't be the same this time around.
Even Allegri with his tactics won't be able to pull anything out of his ass.
What makes it worse for me is that MvB is out for the first leg, and Abate will miss the first leg as well.
Which basically means we are toast.
Our only fullback who is a capable defender (almost world class) and by FAR our most important DM.

I came to accept that Villa and Afelay is missing, but now Abi joins the list and Pedro is not there yet. Alexis is on and off of injury list . We need consistency more then ever.

Who would play in the midfield for Milan? Gatuso is back? Or Nocerino would play as DM and Aquilani and Emanuelson as CM?

Gattuso nor Flamini nor Muntari on the CL.
So a hilariously past his prime Ambrosini will slot there while Aquilani will be on the right and Urby most probably won't play. Nocerino (who can't defend) will be beside Ambrosini on the left.
It depends on our incredibly large injury list.
As for the draw, Alex will be jumping inside as he doesn't rate Milan at all

Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
Aha, it is really not an impressive midfield, but with Boateng and Aquilani it's not bad... if they are not injured (which might happen) it's not that bad.

Our midfield is our weakness which is the sole reason I am pessimistic about this.
Our true and best line-up that Allegri prefers is:
Abbiati
Abate-Nesta-Silva-Zambrotta
Aquilani-MvB-Merkel
KPB
Ibra--Cassano
Ibra and Cassano is deceiving since he pretty much is a number 10 for us and is also required to create deeper within the midfield while Cassano's role is to create within the box for our on rushing forwards and midfielders.
Sadly, we won't see anything close to that line-up due to injuries.

Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
Whats the problem with Milan? Im very confident. I didnt want Real the most by far, and then Bayern. Milan fourth. So its not bad. After thats its Chelsea or Benfica, which is even easier I think, we will reach the final
Fking Real Loool, they are friends with Platini, draws APOEL :lol!:

Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
I dont see the cause for concern.
Milan is not the toughest team we could have got.Bayern or Madrid would have been far more tougher.Plus in the semis we meet either Chelsea or Benfica, nothing to write home about.
As I mentioned before, this is our CL to lose and barring any major goof ups we should win it.

I dont under estimate Milan.
They are a very good team. But we are finally getting back to our best and I expect us to go through in this form.
Anyway lets hope for a great couple of games.

Agreed. I dont buy that no team has retained it thing as well. We are just the best. Although Real have improve a lot lately and thats the only threat I feel.

I agree with you alex, although Milan is the last team I wanted to face, I am relaxed and confident we will progress.alexjanosik wrote:arq

Does anyone know if we'll have Afellay back for either leg? Thanks.

Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
Anybody else annoyed we get Milan and Real Madrid get Apoel? Wtf. I feel they have yet to face anybody strong. Oh well let's just focus on us
Quarter Final
- Milan is dangerous. we struggled both of our games vs them in the groups but they did not defeat us. Prince and Ibra need to be controlled.
Semi-Final
- Chelsea is in shit form and had Napoli had a better defense wouldn't of made it this far. So I don't fear them at all. Plus they are a slow old team. Benefica is a bit more tricky, but still at the end of the day I don't think they have the quality to match Barca. They will get raped at the Camp Nou even if they get a proper result at home
-Final
Real Madrid: lets be honest it seems as if we play them 10 times we will win 9. Our style doesnt match up well with them, or maybe they fear us or something but whatever it is they seem to lose to us most of every time. Bayern will be tricker if because they will be at home. Man U was in there home turf last year and it wasnt an issue so we'll see. Either way it's facing up to be a fun final
Milan-Benefica/Chelsea-Real Madrid/Bayern
Tough set for us to retain our crown

arqui, very good point. I think MvB in the second half was one of the main reasons why Arsenal couldn't complete that historic comeback.

arqui, I am a little surprised. I would have thought he prefers Nocerino to Merkel and Robinho/Pato to Cassano.
Re: Champions League Draw "2011/2012"
actually APELOL conceded less goals (6) than Milan ( 8 ). I expect lot of goals in Milan match as usual.
But wtf when we will see true face of madrid they continue getting flop teams even in quarter finals

Milan are finally transforming their wage bill from a pension fund to a college fund. Don't know what is up with Italian football but half the league is pensioners who do not know how to quiet.
