95% of players don't even earn that much.Well, then he's clearly money oriented, which is what we're all trying to say. Leaving first team action, potential football stardom, becoming a club idol, killing your NT chances and leaving the great city of London for Manchester for more moneys? If that's what he wants...sportsczy wrote:I'm not saying Arsenal offered him 130k... that what he asked of Arsenal. Arsenal offered him 110k. That's just too much of a haircut.
And it has nothing to do with with whether he has a cure for cancer lol. He could be a janitor and the same principle holds true... you're going to try and get the best compensation you possibly can. ESPECIALLY, if this is the prime 5 money-making years of your career.
Absolutely cannot blame Nasri for this.
And btw, what Cesc did was worse for Arsenal... he didn't let them pick from a pool of teams to get a better price. He only wanted to go to Barca. I'm sure Cesc would have fetched at least 45 million from either Chelsea, City or PSG. Probably even Liverpool. Not to mention Cesc was still on contract for several years.
Cesc could have been held hostage for another year and put him up for sale to attact those 45m offers, but Arsenal actually respect his choice and don't treat it's players like slaves (the irony), so they let him go for a cut price. Not really the same thing.
One question, what makes you think that if he had stayed one season longer he wouldn't have moved to City anyway? I mean he is getting offered more money and he is going to a club where they are more ambitious and have more of a chance of winning trophies. From Nasri's point of view everything is perfect for him. Clearly his love for Arsenal is not so strong so he wanted to move on.

Like I said, your mentality doesn't seem to prioritize staying with your club and helping them fight through their trials. The ones who have done it will be remembered forever.
prime money making years? So this is what football has come to.
Oh please stop with the violin act.
That's the world we all live in... ask the billionaires on the board of Arsenal to pony up for ffs. They're the ones hurting the club by being cheap, not the players. If you don't like it, move to a socialist/communist country.
You don't get the point do you.
To me, its clear your mentality of a football career is simply to bank on as much cash as you possibly can earn.
If you don't see any other point to the game, then I'm afraid your capitalist mind doesn't realize the that there is more to football then earning ludicrous amounts of cash.
Communist country? Has nothing to do with this ffs
Ask the arsenal board? I guess they should pay a stupid little child who has has done fraction of what RVP, Fabregas, and Sagna have done for the club just through his petty ultimatums of "pay me more".
Nasri doesn't possess the knowledge of how lucky he is to be in a historical club such as arsenal.
Then he leaves for cash for a club which is more arab then english.

Remember a player should be loyal to his club no matter what is offered as if they were his childhood club.
The club and the fans can however boo players, call them a waste of wages and sell them whenever and to whoever they want.
Loyalty is a two way street. It's not as if Nasri grew up in Arsenal's system he left Marseilles for Arsenal and probably got a nice wage boost in the deal as well.

Re: Nasri to Sevilla- Official
He had a choice: extend his contract or leave. He thinks 115k weekly are poverty wages, so he refused Arsenal's offers and left for City. Yeah, clearly he's a money whore.EarlyPrototype wrote:Sushi Master wrote:What annoys me is that all of a sudden people make it sound like 115k is pocket money for a footballer.Lex wrote:People act like 115k a week over, say, a decade is small money

Ambition... well, if Arsenal don't do shit this transfer window, I'll agree with you. They have the dough, there are a few players rumored but nothing concrete yet.

Lol... it's easy for everyone here to say "love of club", Arsenal this, Arsenal that, etc.
I wonder if any of you would walk away from 15.6 million. Because that's what you would be asked to do in this case.
Wonder how many hypocrites there are in this crowd.

lol, Nasri is already becoming a massive ass
well, arsenal can only blame themselves for losing him, at the end of the day, it's their fault.

Re: Nasri to Sevilla- Official
And nick can vouch that i don't really think that highly of Nasri anymore... he has an ego problem. But that has nothing to do with the business aspect here. Not to mention that City is more competitive than Arsenal now, which angers me to no end.

Re: Nasri to Sevilla- Official
Well, let's be honest, Arsenal is making signings an underdog would make.
They are one filthy rich european giant, making indecent amounts of revenue every season now, and they show less ambition that PSG.
the people running your club can only blame themselves. Being an european big is a status you need to embrace, meaning you have to pay your players accordingly, and make signings of a certain level to show how competitive you want to be, almost like a statement of intent.
Things only drag for so long because Nasri was conflicted. To say that he left only for money is a bit naive imo. You cant blame him for being ambitious, when all the top clubs around him in england and in Europe are putting together monsters squad to make sure they win trophies.
We might mock him for how big his ego has grown, but in truth he wants to win things, and Arsenal isnt looking like they are putting the same kind of effort, despite so much resources.

He moved from Marseille to Arsenal what's suppose to stop him from moving to City. Arsenal didn't satisfy his wage demands or his ambitions after selling Clichy and Fabregas.

Not everyone shares a corrupted money-fueled perspective that you seem to possess.
Nasri left his integrity and pride at the emirates and will most likely never be remembered as player.
