Mats Hummels - Borussia Dortmund #15

Probably the best CB in the Bundesliga this season and one of the main reasons why Dortmund won the league, he has formed an outstanding partnership with Subotic. Where do you rank him in the world? I personally would love for Real Madrid to sign him but he has had two bad games in a row for Germany in particular today(flop of the match).

Solid as a rock. Just needs a working team around him, like any defender.

Well, he needs to develop still. But I think he can become very good with time. Today he didn't look so good when the Azerbaijan goal happened.

Great talent.. but he needs experience.. TIME!

same with Neure he always makes like 3 or 4 decisive saves .. but again make some silly mistakes.. its normal he is still 24? he just need time"experience"..

Neuer just turned 25. And Hummels is even younger at 22

Hummels partnership with Subotic is Top 5 ( if not top 3 ) for me . Hard to say how good individually i would say certainly Top 15 . At a push even 10

I wouldn't take him at Chelsea though. (only because we have WC CB's already.)

Very highly. Has been Bundensliga's best defender this season and also Dortmund's best player after Sahin. Probably the best young CB out there, his 30 yard through balls from the defence reminds me of the old school sweepers and he would be a star in any team which relies on counterattack. He flopped with Germany but that's probably because he has almost zero chemistry with Badstuber. He needs a destroyer/stopper CB beside him, that's why his partnership with Subotic is so effective, both perfectly complement each other, like Xavi and Iniesta.

I think he is very good but people don't seem to give Subotic enough credit for the Dortmund success. If anything I think Subotic is the main reason Hummels looks so good, they complement each other perfectly, if 1 is out of position they know the other 1 will cover.

Will the fanbois on here finally have the balls to admit he's not the second coming of Beckbenbauer and still has alot of learning to do? The warning signs were already there when an off form RVP ran him ragged for about 60 minutes but conceding two goals to an inept attacking side like Greece .

Not even going to mention his performances in the CL.

As for Badstuber the less said the better. By far the worst individual performance at the Euros so far, guys a total scrub.

Epep on the other hand. Now there's a World Class defender.

Anyway, Hummels was ripped a new one by Cassano. If this was Pique or Ramos, two guys people love to hate here, we would never here the end of it.

Cassano is a good player, not overly surprising

He made a great tackle on Balo just minutes before getting the ring run around him, and hes not the first player to struggle with Cassano's movement

Badstuber made Hummels look bad, he always does that.

BAD-stuber was really bad. He let Balotelli score a free header and was out of position in entire game. Höwedes owns him in all departments yet Löw starts this excuse of a defender. He doesn't tackle, doesn't stay close to his man. He just stands in front of an attacker and waits...
At least, Hummels and Boateng go into 1 vs. 1 battles.
