The Striking Situation Empty The Striking Situation

Post by El Chelsea Fuerte Sun Aug 07, 2011 2:15 pm

Lukaku, Drogba, Torres, Sturridge, Malouda, Anelka, Kalou, Kakuta...:coffee:

The problem: Only three will play in the starting 11 at a single time and there's no way we can have five strikers on the bench with seven players allowed. And I'm sure none of these players would appreciate being left out of the squad. We now face a real problem with Lukaku not going on loan. Torres will expectantly be first choice out of him, Lukaku and Drogba but it'll be stupid to have both Drogba and Lukaku on the bench. Neither of them would want to be left out of the squad. So what do we do with them?? Also out of Malouda, Anelka, Kakuta, Kalou, and Sturridge, Malouda and Sturridge will start, but what of Kalou, Anelka and Kakuta? Again it'll be stupid to have them on the bench so what do you do with them??

Solution: The solution with the latter problem is rather simple: sell either Anelka or Kalou. I imagine we would definitely buy De Bruyne, and I suspect that he will be loaned back. With that, we can have Kakuta and Kalou/Anelka as substitutes for the wings and it'll be fine (unless the club loans Kakuta which I don't think they will). But the solution to the second problem is not simple. I don't think the club are in any mood to sell Drogba, and with Lukaku in no mood to go on loan (he apparently has it written in his contract that he can't go on loan too), this will mean that we will have to keep both of them. But how does the club expect to keep both of them happy since we can't have both of them sitting unnecessarily on the bench?

I have been saying for months that having all these strikers doesn't make sense. Which is why signing lukaku doesn't make sense this year when it is quite clear none of our current strikers are going anywhere.

There's no way none of our strikers are going this year.

Here is my solution.

starting three

Sturridge-Torres-Malouda

The bench: Kalou Drogba and Lukaku.

If we need a goal, put Kalou and drogba on, if we're leading put Luaku on.

Rotate Kalou Anelka Malouda and Kakuta.

Both Kalou and Anelka's contracts end this season so I don't think eithe will be playing for us next season.

I guarantee you they are all staying, you do realize that that the new season starts in one week. Transfer activity is very unlikely once the season starts.

Kalou, Anelka, and Drogba contracts ends next summer, i think the club plans on running out their contracts.

Ah well. Lukaku was too good of a talent and price to miss out on anyways. Villas-Boas knew this situation would occur and he knows what he is doing. But I'm still not ruling out a sale, we shall see.

Sturridge lacks experience , i mean he will be ok in PL but going to lack in XP in CL . kalou is irregular so let's say he is a joker. anelka is old , i mean not that old but he looks older when he plays and i think going on the bench sometimes is gonna have bad effects on his motivation ( don't forget , it's his last year ). drogba has to be used a max , common this guy is awesome and just give him confidence and he is gonna rock , a true legend . hope malouda gonna be good

We should sell Kalou. Anelka can be used in games here and there, till he sees out his contract.

Kakuta should stay... he will get quite a lot of games!
