What would you do in this situation?

I'm sure many of you probably don't know who Plymouth Argyle are, so I give a brief rundown. They're a club in League 2 (that is, fourth tier of English football) and are on the brink of going out of business.
For several months, their players, staff and even their bills have remained unpaid simply because they can't pay them.
Since the summer of 2010, Reid has been forced to sell or release over 40 players because of this financial mess. Currently, Plymouth are bottom of League 2, with 1 point from a possible 27. The manager has had no money to invest, pretty much poor players for the level they're playing at and no backing to get the required results.
Furthermore, Peter Reid hasn't been paid a penny for 15 months, has aunctioned off his F.A. Cup medal to help pay the staff and has paid for bills with his own money.
Basically, he's doing a job that hardly anyone would willingly do and because of that he's highly respected by Plymouth fans.
Didn't stop him from being sacked, though. On the basis that "it's a results business".
My question is: if you were the chairman, would you have sacked the manager? On one hand, staying in the division is vital for them to actually stay in business. On the other hand, sacking the manager causes disharmony amongst players and fans, and whoever comes in has to somehow perform a miracle.

You gotta do something to rock the baot. Sticking with that status quo will mean the drop for sure, might as well take a chance.

Absolute disgrace tbh, but you have to remember who the chairman is
Ridesdale, he has single handedly destroyed more football clubs financially than any other person.

I would get him his medal back first then sack him if I had to do it.

I couldn't believe it when Peter Reid sold all of his medals (including the one he won at Sunderland) to stop Plymouth from going broke and they still sacked him. Shocking. Did the best he could for Plymouth.

Plymouth won 2-0 yesterday.
They are about to get took over by James Brent
Risdale is leaving Plymouth.
Get Peter Reid back as manager!

Wow... what an asshole move. When you're as economically limited as that, it's not your fault you can't get results. I doubt any other manager could do much in that situation.

Did they win 2-0 with Reid still in charge?

As far as douchey moves go that ranks quite high.

Sadly, no. Their captain is in temporary charge.
