Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Sidibe is a key prospect. Although he's right footed, they have him play left back at club since he's good there too. But he's really a natural right back. There's literally no other prospect at RB in France
Jordan Amavi will push Kurzawa and Digne too soon assuming he makes a full recovery.

Forgot about Corchia . LOL at the left back from his own club being considered for the NT right back position ahead of him
Another fraud who didn't live up to expectations .

It's a sad situation at RB when Jallet makes the team and Sagna starts.

Now that you have the squad, how is France likely lining up?

That French squad is horrendous. No Benzema, Lacazette, Ben Arfa, Rabiot, Kurzawa, Umtiti etc
Advantage Belgique.

As if Belgium has a chance, nice to see you haven't changed though.

Anyone with any decent quality, fortunately for Germany nobody in Europe has that.

Besides Cabaye and Sagna that squad is legit. Probably tied with, or just behind, Germany

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
At the end of the day when you rely on mid table Lukaku to score the goals to beat the best in Europe you are going to struggle imo.
Hazard and De Bruyne could have the tournaments of their lifes and they still wouldn't win and that's unlikely in of itself.
That's a genuinely serious view point too

Couldn't agree more with you actually. I don't trust Lukaku either or Benteke for that matter. Their style of play just isn't suited to the slower paced more technical nature of International football.
That's why I'm pinning my hopes on Batshuayi who's a great footballer & has had a great season or even Origi who was looking good under Klopp until his injury.

Origi is better than all 3 of them. If he's fit he'll start as he did in the world cup.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Lass is starting like has the past 4 Nt games... And been outstanding. Best midfielder in ligue 1 this season. He dominated PSG's mid all alone when they played.
Pogba-Lass-Matuidi with Kante backing up everyone lol.
Attack is great.
Only concerns are RB and Varane's CB partner. The rest of the team is top notch.
Belgium has no midfield, questionable defense and an unknown attack. But the biggest thing is a midfield of Fellaini-Whitsel lol. Batshuayi is ok. Not better or even as good as lukaku or benteke. I'm a om fan so I would know.

Lloris
Sagna-Varane-Kos-Evra
Pogba-Lass-Matuidi
Griezmann-Giroud-Martial
If Giroud isn't up to par, I think they move Griezmann or Martial central and bring in Payet.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
Giroud getting called up when he has been disgusting to watch is absolutely disgusting.
Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
He has 22 goals and 6 assists all comps Turok... he just hit a really dry patch for Arsenal there. But all the CFs need to do for France is bring physical impact and have a presence in the box. That's it. We have plenty of creative talent that we don't need them to be pretty. Giroud has scored 3 goals in the last 3 games for NT so he's fit in well.
Speaking of potential players of the future... there's Dembele of course and Laporte. But watch out for Lucas Hernandez of Atleti. He's a CB. He got called to the U23 squad and he seems really good too.

That's not the problem and you know it sports. Its the mentality man and Giroud will carry that toxic arsenal mentality to the french nt camp along with Koscielny. you want hungry winners to play for the nt, not guys who will give up at the first sign of adversity.
Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
They've looked fine in terms of mentality on NT to me. Kos has dealt with injuries and Per Mertesacker's speed while Giroud has been exactly what he's always been.
They're not asked to be game winners or changers... they just need to fill a role. They're not stars on the team. At Arsenal, Kos is asked to carry the defense and Giroud to carry the scoring load. Neither of them are that kind of player. Varane will carry the France defense while Griezmann is the main scorer with Martial behind him.

Re: France NT News, Formations & Results
DD also likes big guys as a CF because of set piece defense. Other than CBs... now you have Pogba and Giroud to defend in the air. Evra and Sagna are not terrible air defenders either.
A lot of teams think that they can play a bunch of AMs/shorter strikers and dominate the ball like Barca/prime Spain. Well that's fine if you do it. But if you don't... you get killed on defense. It cost Spain in the last WC and it's been the downfall of a lot of these pseudo Barca-like clubs.
This NT will never dominate the ball like that. The players are too direct. So you need to balance out talent with the proper physical profiles.... it's something that completely escapes Flo at Madrid

Top kek @ the flo jib, Many things escape him though.
Dunno about you but in spite of not having Benz, France is a safe bet for triumph. High quality in just about everything bar playmaking and the Arsenal duo. Griezmann cant do it alone and he is gonna be the main goalscoring threat so his creative play will be rather diminished. Martial is the next best thing. Would rather see him play cf and have a real winger do that role. but w/e man, you say this but the problem with Giroud is that he is too limited. if opposing teams manage to quiet Griezmann and you already have martial out of place in the flanks, all you're left with is...Giroud.
If it were me. I would be panicking like crazy. I'm surprised you're very calm and confident about this. Because if I were an opposing coach, just canceling out Griezmann and Martial would be more than enough to at least secure a draw. Giroud is not a big name nor is he one to be feared. being 6'4 means nothing if you don't how to utilize such well. Would rather roll with Gignac who is 6'2. tall enough to be a good aerial threat and he is in confident form.
