Zidane was not that great

Biased opinions aside, I think anybody that genuinely understands that game can watch Zidane play and immediately notice his unparalleled talent.

But I must be wrong right? Me and Platini, Beckenbauer, Pele, Di Stefano, Raul, Rivaldo, and more.

really? u expect them to be arrogant and say they were the best ever?....most of the those players are better or equal to zidane

Zidane was a magician, he oozed class in every aspect of his game.

Top 10 imo for sure. Everywhere he played, he was just great. I can say hes one of the only two players that ive shed a tear for when they retired

don't compare ronaldinho to zidane, ronaldinho is definitely better. zidane never had a peak, he was never that great. if he did, zidane's best was the way ronaldinho played at milan.

And have you ever thought that maybe some players dont have peaks because they are just great and consistent their whole career?

and to correct you, Zizou DID have a peak, Late Juve and Early Madrid years

Even more frustrating that people can say someone else is making uneducated comments for having a different opinion. Its not as if people are saying zidane isnt a great player just that he isnt on the level on some of the other greats and doesn't deserve some of the hype he gets.

If u like zidane so much that u think hes "the greatest ever" dont push it on people no one wants to wear those tinted shades u got there.

Zidane, IMO, is one of the all time greats, IMO. Definately in the Pele, Maradonna class. What he did in 98 and 2006 and also with Juventus and Real Madrid at club level, should be more than enough to prove how good he was.

awards from corrupt fifa don't have as much value anymore. just look at this year when messi won it, when everyone knew it should've gone to xavi or sneijder. usually it goes to one of the best players in he wc and also to somebody who had a fantastic season. xavi and sneijder had that, messi underperformed at the wc and only won one trorphy. however giving it to messi looks good for fifa because it's messi and he has amazing skills and dribbling abilities, just like zidane. sneijder and xavi don't have this superstar status, they have much lower profiles compared to messi. giving it to the quiet midfielder who pulls all the strings doesn't look so good, unlike giving it to a flashy attacking player. and that's how zidane won his last two world player awards, his reputation.

Top footballers I have seen play the game that are better are Messi, Ronaldo(not Cristiano), Maldini, Pirlo and Xavi.

I regard those players more highly than Zidane but all are greats of the game and IMO should not be compared because they have all left their marks on the game.
