Arbeloa simply put should be miles away from the squad.

Replacements? It must be a slow and diligent process. The stand in should be Iraola at the moment given that he has been in excellent form for the past 3 years and provides a far more potent threat as C.Martinez is also a mention. Since we are talking future terms?

Best prospects are Azpilicueta & Caravan. Azpi at the moment is simply more proven and has been excellent for Chelsea when given the chances but Caravan has without a doubt deserved more of the spotlight for his breakout season. It is my desire to see both of them competing for the spot as that is how our talents will thrive in their development.

Knowing VDB? He'll play Arbeloa till he is 40 until that scrub Montoya is picked as automatic starting RB.

Martinez not called up. According to del Trollsque he's not playing good enough at the moment. Del Trollsque.

VDB really has a stick up his arse when it comes to players playing outside of La Liga.

Michu is not good enough for the Spanish national team. And he doesn't even suit the team, he's more of a direct player.

Gotta bump this. Earlier in the year Michu was on a tear, VdB said he would get called up and it would've been interesting to see what he would've done with a call-up. Now, months down the line with the CC coming up he's nowhere near a call-up and aside from those few months of form, he might not be again.

he will play the same line up with pedro as cf and navas on the wings. xavi, xabi and busi in the midfield and iniesta on the other wing

Arbeloa still at rb if not then montoya. he doesn't care about epl players lol only if things don't work out he will play them. just watch how much cesc plays now compared to when he was at arsenal lol

Spain actually dont use a 433. they use a double pivot xabi-busquets, as opposed barcelona. Xavi plays a very classical n10 role and he naturally can drop deep which gives tactical variety to Spain, as well as advantage in the midfield. on paper it looks like a 4231.

@Hala, no one is saying VDB will change, it's highly unlikely, but we are just pointing out what the best formation is.

although, Azpi already got a shot and with Arbeloa turning to crap it will be a miracle if he starts the next WC. If Mata keeps destroying Silva in EPL there is hope for him still, and VDB is a Torres fanboy so i expect Torres to make his way back into the team given he has gotten a lot better.

cesc is getting more chances in the team because he is older now, and also there is more chemistry between barca players since they play together all the time.

& Espana play a rotational pivot with Xabi & Busquets with Xavi playing a more advanced role, taking advantage of his lateral build-up play. Not fun to watch yet very effective.

Our best line-up would be:

Javi/Busquets-Xabi

----Mata----Xavi------Iniesta

Pique for Espana has been shaky since the WC 2010 and looks a shadow without Puyol. Azpi is obvious unless Iraola is slotted in. Between Natxo and Jose I'd take Natxo due to their intellectual differences. Ramos has also been shaky yet is a committed leader in the back line.

Javi or Busquets? Javi has had a far better year yet Busquets is still the better player. Javi offers more in varied areas of attack though and is more complete. Xabi simply because no matter how shit he is for Madrid, his form for Espana is undoubted.

Front 3 AMs is obvious.

Villa? He doesn't play for Barca despite him being better than all their forwards bar Messi, and performs literally every game for Espana and is our best striker of all time. He is unshakable

I think this season, on merit alone, Soldado and Negredo deserve that 9 role far more than any of Torres, Villa or Llorente. I would start Soldado if I were VDB.

Soldado a good choice. Negredo simply isn't good enough for Espana and when he has gotten his ample chances, he hasn't been up to scratch.

Soldado I don't mention simply because I know del Bosque will never call him up no matter how many he scores. I rate the Valencian quite highly and would like to see considering he has been fantastic for Espana on all of his appearances. Yet like Llorente, no matter how good he seems to perform for La Roja, he will never be integrated for some odd reason. VDB like Lippi loves his old favourites.

Alba would be a better choice IMO since he is faster and better offensively, considering the fact that they play with 5/6 mids.

Mata has a striker-esque goal output and unlike Fabregas he is agile. No idea why del Bosque hasn't started him in that role yet.

Other than that: LOL @ some lineups here. This isn't Fifa. Del Bosque is not going to break up fundamental components like the Busquets-Alonso partnership or drop Xavi or Pique just because some players haven't been at their best for a few months due to various reasons (injuries, fatigue ... in Pique's case being partnered with 2 attacking wingbacks and the likes of Mascherano, Song, Adriano at centerhalf). You don't mess with a winning formula and add players like Inigo Martinez, Natxo, Isco and whatnot into the starting lineup who have a combined CL experience of like 5 games.
