Re: LFC Stats - Official
Well, we are a bit attack-heavy, I suppose, playing with two strikers and a CAM. So maybe it makes sense, then, that it's the strikers who end up in goal-scoring situations, because there's less space for midfielders to charge into the box.
I dunno, I'm not really buying my own explanation x)
Yeah, goals from midfield would be nice. If good defenders manage to keep SAS in their pockets, that is likely to be a non-scoring game from our part right now. If that happens I'm sure this topic will get hot, but right now we're 2nd in the table and coming from a 4 - 0 win, so hard to get too pessimistic about this

Re: LFC Stats - Official
Against Everton:
- Everton had 18 shots. We had 11. Everton had more shots on target than we had *bleep* shots anywhere; 12 to our 11.
- Everton had 8 (eight) one-on-one's with our goalkeeper. Eight. 8.
- We conceded 3 goals from set-pieces.
This season:
- Only 3 teams in the Top 12 have conceded more goals than us.
#copied
I think BR should really take this issue urgently on board. Before the issue escalates and costs us massive points, we must address it

^ Are you using the stat I used in another post? Because I assumed it was 60%, I wasn't stating it as a fact. It's just every goal seems to be conceded from a set piece. And another 20% came from open play when teams exploited our 3 at the back.

Na we have actually conceded about 7-8 of our 14-15 goals from set pieces.

Which could also be used to suggest we're actually very good at defending from open play, rather than just crap at defending set pieces... it really depends on the number of goals we've conceded in each category compared to the rest of the PL. Everything's relative.

Toure-Aagger, v Stoke.... 1-0
Toure-Agger, v AstonVilla.... 1-0
Skrtel-Agger, v Manu... 1-0
Skrtel-Agger, v Southampton...0-1 set piece
Skrtel-Sakho, v Swans... 2-2
Skrtel-Agger, v Fulham... 4-0
Toure-Skrtel-Sakho, v Newcastle... 2-2 1 set-piece goal from which they lead 2-1, again Studge saved our arse
I think the first thing we need is some consistency in the back four...at least the center two. Let see what pairing BR uses in the long term

Re: LFC Stats - Official
Considering the quality and depth we have at CB, we have conceded too many goals. Yes, we should pick and stick with a CB-pair. But in addition to that, is the quality (or lack of that) in WB and CM causing us to concede too many!!!

Henderon with 6 assists, people said he can not be creative sometimes I think it more to the way/tactics we play that we do not have more contributors other than SAS

Re: LFC Stats - Official
Since Daniel Sturridge made his debut for Liverpool, the top 2 Premier League scorers are Suarez (31) and Sturridge (24).
Since his debut in the PL, Luis Suarez has won twice as many penalties as any other player (Ashley Young is second with 6).
Since August 2008, only 2 PL teams have hit the woodwork more than 100 times (Liverpool 128, Arsenal 103).
Simon Mignolet has made more errors (5) leading directly to a goal than any other Premier League player this season.
Of the 30 PL goals from direct free-kicks this season, 17 of them have come from the four clubs from Manchester & Liverpool.

Re: LFC Stats - Official
Yeah one of them is definitely Chelsea I'd say. That Eto'o shot was weak as shit. He even got a full hand on it, should've palmed it stronger.
City (Negredo), Chelsea (Eto'o), Stoke (Wlaters), Villa (Benteke)
and that's all I can remember

Re: LFC Stats - Official
9 – Steven Gerrard has matched his best ever total of assists in a PL season (level with 2012-13 & 2008-09). Vintage.
Luis Suárez hit the woodwork for the sixth time this season; no other player in the league has done so more than three times.
Liverpool have now conceded two-or-more in nine of their thirteen away league games this season, and nineteen out of thirty-two in total under Rodgers
If Liverpool win their next match, they will have more points after twenty-seven games than in every previous Premier League season. Yes, even 2008/09! (3 draws in January stopped us from winning the league that season. )

Re: LFC Stats - Official
^ To put this into context.
That's 2.6 points a game.
That's getting 72 points out of a total possible 84.
(We went up to 29 games UNBEATEN and only lost 2 games out of the 40.)
Really wonder what would of happened if we were eligible to play in Europe that season. It's considered OUR best ever side.

Re: LFC Stats - Official
From here on , I would like to keep the track of our scorers and assist makers,
Goal scored: awarded to the player
Deflected goal: awarded to the player having last touch, in that case no assist
Penalty won: assist
Please let me know if there are any more rules which I should use:
Now the thing which I dont know is how to insert a table here. McY, you used to do the comparison table, how do you do it?

Would you consider that a Gomez assist? I mean Coutinho had a lot to do after receiving the pass.Helmer wrote:From here on , I would like to keep the track of our scorers and assist makers,
