Re: Spain's two horse race
then explain what is the proof for above written pos.Iceman wrote:Ever think that the level of the teams in EPL is higher than those in Spain? That makes a huge difference.
How exactly is EPl teams better than La liga teams as a whole?
Valencia gave MANUTD a run for their money in OT.
How exactly is rest of EPL teams are on a higher level than la liga clubs?
Last year every EPl teams who faced La liga clubs got ass whipped.

Just because you think the level is higher doesn't mean it is. It's easy to get fooled by the nice stadiums and atmosphere in England but in reality the level of mid table clubs is not as high as some would have you believe.
Unless you have some way of proving that claim.

Re: Spain's two horse race
Blackpool, who got relegated, gave United a run for their money and almost beat them. Does that mean that Blackpool, a championship team, is as good as Valencia? Because that is basically what Adit is saying.

Re: Spain's two horse race
For the record La liga clubs have won more UEFA cups in the last 10 years than any other league teams.

still didnt get the explanation for "the level above EPL clubs "
Re: Spain's two horse race
Logical fallacies aside I don't see how you can prove (other than just giving your opinion) that the EPL is at a higher level of football than Spain.
From where I'm standing it isn't. La Liga may be a two horse race as of late but that's only because the top two horses are f*cking studs. The rest of the horses in the race are quite good too.
A donkey race can be competitive, doesn't mean it's any good.

Re: Spain's two horse race
i think the desire to win from the small epl/seria A clubs is greater. they will try many different ways to win, which will get them results against the big sides. you even saw it when Leicester face RM. RM have a million time more quality then them. so what do they do? long throw-in's and long balls which gave RM a lot of problems because they found it hard to defend against.

Barca and Madrid are too incredibly super teams dominates LA liga--La Liga teams are weak

Re: Spain's two horse race
Giu posted some statistic about lower table EPL teams winning more points against the top 4 than lower table La Liga teams.
He also said mid table EPL teams have almost double the points against the top 4 in EPL than in La Liga!

Spurs finish fourth in PL and reached QF of CL last year.Sevilla finished fourth and couldnt qualify for group stage of CL.
When was the last time a la liga team apart from Barca or Madrid reached CL in La liga.
Arsenal Liverpool Chelsea and United have all reached the CL semis frequently in recent years.Even Madrid reached the semis once in last 8 years.
Its ridiculous to say the likes of Sevilla are as good as Liverpool and Arsenal.

That's your opinion and you are allowed to have one.
But with all do respect Madrid don't have to convince you that they are a top side for them to be one. The truth is they already are. Isn't it enough that they are part of the top two already? That they outscore everyone in the league pretty much consistently? That they outplayed the champions of Italy pretty handedly? That they pretty much steam rolled past your local rivals extremely easily? That they actually beat Barcelona for a trophy?
Not enough for you maybe but it's probably enough for many others (including the bookmakers)

you kidding me? they had a player sent off, plus spurs are very new to the CL, they are in experienced with a team they havnt faced before. they know arsenal well, so they know how we play so they can counter it. and did you even watch those matches? we totally dominated them and then shot ourselves in the foot. i want RM to try and do that against experienced cl campaigners in chalsea, man utd, arsenal and liverpool.

Madrid are the only team that has won against Barca in a final in past 3 years.

Re: Spain's two horse race
If Sevilla weren't run by a bunch of monkeys in suits they would be in a better position than they are in.
Truth is bad club management and shoe string budgets are holding most La Liga teams back. That however doesn't really mean the actual football being played is not of high quality. It is.
Oh yeah BTW the team that knocked Sevilla out were Braga, what English team did they beat last year?
