The Missing Link : Nuri Sahin

I have no idea what to expect from Sahin, maybe seen him play like twice for Dortmund.. Way too busy to watch more than 1 league these days.. Where do you guys think he will fit in? Will Khedira lose his starting spot? Who will provide the "steel" in the midfield if he, Ozil and Alonso are all on the pitch?

Maybe Di Maria gets benched?

He'll rotate with alonso i believe, alonso aint gonna go a whole season.

I watched a lot of Dortmund games last year. I dont think a Sahin + Alonso + Ozil formation would work against any good teams. Sahin is ok at defending, his passing though is brilliant.

From what I see, Khedira has to be the automatic starter. His defensive side is much needed in that formation. In my opinion, there is only two ways Sahin can start for Real.

Against good teams.

--------------------Benz

More like a 4-3-3, imo Khedira (or even Lass) is a must.

I think you have to make a choice between Sahin or Alonso (Alonso will/and should get the nod) if you are to play with the current formation.

In the long term, I can see Madrid adopting a 4-3-3 because if you have seen Sahin consistently from last year, then you know for sure that he will be a starter. He is too good (similar to Fabregas case) to sit on the bench. Mou will find a way.

Oh God Sanitas I hope you didn't rush him like you usually do.

FFS if his knee isn't 100% I think I'm going to hurt someone.

I think he is going to do a lot of prep work before starting. Mourinho said he will be there in 15 days, and today sanitas declared him fit.

I can only assume that he will have 2 weeks to get in great condition without rushing.

Yeah hopefully Jose does exactly that.

AS reporting that Sahins injury is now over and he will be ready to debute the 16th against Real Betis.

He better not debut against Betis. As much as I want him to play, he should get back into physical form SLOWLY, then have a good amount of regular first team training so he shakes of that rust and gets into some footballing form. It will take him a while, I guess, but in maybe a month he could be challenging for a starting place?

Debut =/= start...

IMO its better if he gets playing soon, if he is out now he has 2 weeks on him and Xabi might need some dire rest, give him a start so he can get some confidence and play. + we need to see if he can be available against lyon

Thank you for the English lesson, but I still feel that you cant go from being injured to having minutes. Especially in this very particular situation, we have to make sure he is 100% healed and in good physical form before we can start building on that. That is what I would do, and I am as desperate to have Nuri ready as anyone...

I doubt if anyone here is expecting him to start. It will take at least a month or more likely 2 before he can be expected to compete for a starter position. We just want to see him play and see what he has.

Whats this about him being fit today, havent heard anything. He is still doing seperate recovery exercises, so I dont really know what all this is about.

Playing Sahin tomorrow if we had a game is risky, but the 2 weeks he has is like a life line in case Sanitas *bleep* up as usual.

Let's just be patient, and wait for him to return, no need to worry.

Madrid's medical team declared him 100% fit and ready to return as of yesterday

Have a feeling he's going to flop. Real Madrid is becoming turkish central. Who would have thought...
