True tbh. Barca nursed their talents, and their attempts at superteam with buying Coutinho, Dembele and Griezmann and others for 500 million failed pretty miserably.

How is football more tactical, collective or whatever? We get surprise teams in almost every World Cup.

Bulgaria beat the reigning WC winners Germany and got into the semi finals in 1994.

Turkey should have kicked out Brazil in the semi finals in 2002 if not for the infamous Rivaldo incident.

Ghana and Paraguay went into the quarter finals in 2010 and Ghana maybe could have went even further if not for Suarez shitting on their cake.

One or two unexpected teams almost always make it into the quarter or semi finals. The last WC only had Morocco as a surprise and besides them 7 well established football nations in the quarter finals (Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina, France, England, Portugal, Croatia).

I look at club football and Barca being on course for a 100 point season with that roster. Who tf are Gavi, Kessie, Christensen, Garcia? With Alba, Busquets and 35 year old Lewandowski still as core players. Can you imagine the scoreline if this team faced Barca from 13 years ago? Yet this team somehow is 19-2-2 +37 in La Liga.

What about Serie A? Napoli running away by 20 points difference? Arsenal leading the PL table? Union Berlin fighting for the title in Bundesliga?

These are all signs that the level across the board is so low that garbage teams can fight for the title rather than everyone being so strong now collectively, much like 2nd division games.

^^ a google search shows me Skyrim SE came out in 2016. For gaming, 2016 is very much still contemporary.

Skyrim came out in 2011, SE is mostly just 64bit version of it. That makes it 12 years old already.
