There is a lot to be optimistic at Barcelona. Not only Xavi is a better manager that the coaches Barça have had in the past few years, the likes of Koeman, Setién and Valverde whom all have (surprise surprise) been jobless since getting sacked, the whole structure of the club is far better now than it had been in the past decade. Don't forget in Xavi's first few matches he was playing teenagers like Ezzalzouli, Akhomach, González and Gabi. For most part, he has made recue signings to save the season. He will need a couple of proper transfer windows to exert his style on the team.

Xavi is not the second coming of Guardiola, but he is far better suited to Barça than any coach in the world (bar Pep of course).

Theres been much improvement with Xavi over Koeman, that should be clear, ppl that dont think so either just dont watch our games much or just wrong Koeman made us almost unwatchable, the players were a factor, but we were just so bad, leaked goals for fun, clueless in general n team was just so disconnected all over the place, players being played our of position, the list goes on. Xavi has clear plan n positioning play n pressing is much better, players are improved, hes picked the right players after going through a round of seeing them.

Not to mention his off the field personality is also just so much more positive, Koeman was a depressing figure. We still have many things to improve, n our physicality is still lacking, but thats prolly a bigger long term issue we been having for yrs, and there will be more new players to bring in. So this is all just the early phases of a long process where Xavi has done well so far, should only get better as time goes.

I haven't watched all of their games this season, but they definitely stepped up their game after the winter transfer window. It didn't seem to last for very long, but I don't think it's a coincidence that Xavi had a weak start as a manager, and then they saw an upturn in form after some transfers had been made. If anything separates Koeman and Xavi based on this incredibly short time span for comparison, I'd wager it's the transfers lol

From an honest POV, Barcelona has improved under Xavi. To me, that should be unquestionable. However, as my dearest Thimmy mentioned, getting the support in the transfer market and the upsurge in performance does have a correlation. Support that Koeman never fully had.

To be frank, Koeman had no business being hired and Barca should have left his mediocre self continue to be mediocre elsewhere but Xavi has the team playing aesthetically better and I dare say that next season would be his real litmus test.

This season, well, this is a freebie but it's still fun watching the many excuses online to justify yet another insipid performance. Oh and De Jong really needs to get better at this thing called central midfielder. Definitely...

Ferran at CF is absolutely useless, its like hes not even on the fking pitch, already a flop loool...

We're not playing bad but there's zero creativity and penetration. De Jong is not a creator and Gavi isnt ready to be a starter.

Alves is poor and doesnt support Dembele at all on that right flank.

So imo today we're suffering from the lack of a legit RB and creative CM/AM

Pedri, Ansu and Auba would help but bench options arent great.

At the point i wrote that Barca had a 0 shots in the second half and Betis dominated the first half

There were 2 guys free when they scored. Both Bartra and Carvalho. I think it was Busquets who lost Bartra

Betis were decent in 1st half but nonexistent in the 2nd, any team will create some chances against us as long as Alves and Eric Garcia play. But overall we were better and i enjoyed the game though stats might not show it

Fati seems to always score everytime he comes back almost, pretty Real-like magic that lol... positionally he seems like pretty simple n able to wait in space for a pass, prolly just better chemistry with Alba. Ferran n Depay dont seem to have that, n also just the speed of shot execution, not sure, might be Betis just tiring?

Adama also provided something different when he came on, his crosses are blind (although same can be said with Dembele) but certainly helps change the dynamics a bit... also not sure if its gotta more to do with Betis tiring

What about that winner although, again Alves cross Cancelo style n Alba yet another great goal volley. What would we be without Alba ffs

And wtf @ us finishing second this season, after being so bad for so many games at times... state of this league

It's huge for em cos of champions league football and with that added finances and ability to attract good players. Betis really pissed me off, I feel like barca haven't really suffered enough
